I think it is because that you load the XRC's wxDialog INTO your already constructed CBorneDlg... But you didn't give the CBorneDlg the wxWANTS_CHARS style... Notice that there are two ways to load a wxDialog from an XRC file. Actually here is how is defined my CBorneDlg : class CBorneDlg : public ...

capture key events with a XRC dialog

Hi, It's been a while I am trying to capture key events from a dialog loaded from a XRC. I tried to add wxWANTS_CHARS style but with no success. Here is how I do it : My XML resource file (XRC): <object class="wxDialog" name= "DLG_LECTEUR_DIALOG" subclass="CBorneDlg"> <pos>0,0</pos> <size>1024,766</...

nobody has found a solution for me until now

Hi, I am using wxwidget 2.5.3 on windows XP SP2 and I am trying to load a dialog with some controls on it by using an xrc file. Everything works fine but once my dialog is loaded I cannot capture keys. I tried everything people told me but it still doesn't work. Does someone has a sample code where ...

Pass the wxWindow-derived-class the wxWANTS_CHARS flag (specify it in the .xrc file). It doesn't work. Here is how I create the dialog : //App IMPLEMENT_APP(CBorneApp) bool CBorneApp::OnInit() { int nResponse = 0; // RESOURCE HANDLING wxXmlResource::Get()->InitAllHandlers(); wxXmlResource::Get()->L...

wxwidgets for windows and GDI

From what I have seen wxwidgets uses GDI, why don't you switch to GDI+ ?
It helps to reduce code and add some cool features

top level dialog

Hello,

How can I create a top level dialog, what I mean is a dialog hiding everything even the taskbar on Windows.
My resolution is 1024x768 and when I create a dialog at that resolution I want the taskbar to be hidden.

Another question is : how can I inform wxwidget developpers if I found a bug?

Hi, I have created a derived dialog from an xrc file with the following code : bool CBorneApp::OnInit() { wxXmlResource::Get()->InitAllHandlers(); wxXmlResource::Get()->Load(wxT("res/resource.xrc")); CBorneDlg dlg(NULL); dlg.ShowModal(); } and in my derived dialog CBorneDlg::CBorneDlg(wxWindow *pare...

XRC and vertically centered wxStaticText

Hello, I have discovered wxwindows and I am playing with it to port an existing MFC app. I have modified and improved the tools used to convert Microsoft RC file to wxwindows xrc format. But now I have discovered that there is no way of vertically centered a wxStaticText. I read that we need to fake...
