wxDateTime question

In trying to use the wxDateTime facilities, I've run into a problem I can't seem to resolve in a time zone independent way. I am in the PST timezone, so if I use: wxDateTime now; now = wxDateTime::Now(); ftr.Printf( "Printed: %s", now.Format( wxDefaultDateTimeFormat, now.IsDST() ? wxDateTime::PDT : ...

beta 0.4 release

This release fixes - some more problems with page breaks. - page positions for 2 & 4-up printing in some cases, depending on starting page to be printed - fixed problem with page number positioning - fixed "Printed: " date, but unless you're in the TZ PST it still may be off. - Changed the string us...

Problem with a fixed position text line in wxScrolledWindow

Hi, I'm trying to follow the example in topic 12535 which almost works on my machine - keeping a vertical line in a nearly fixed position when the window is scrolled. http://forums.wxwidgets.org/viewtopic.php?t=12535 On my machine - WinXP, Microsoft Visual Studio C++ 2005, wxWidgets 2.8.6 - the line...

I finally been able to do some more work on this utility and have posted the latest update at: http://www.columbinehoney.net/wxPr.shtml This time, 1,2 & 4-up should work, as should drag and drop. As well, the sources should be available this time. A typo in the web page stopped things cold for that ...

I'm not quite sure I understand your question. On my system the default printing dialog has the options to only print certain pages, but it neither shows how many pages there really are - other than 'All' - nor which pages will contain what part of the file. I want to be able to not only give an acc...

printing utility

I've posted a beta version of a printing utility at: http://www.columbinehoney.net/wxPr.shtml It is meant to be/become a wxWidgets based replacement for WinPrin, an old PC Mag utility by Jeff Prosise published back in June 1994 . It currently only does 1-up printing and not all of the intended featu...

compile error for datetime.cpp with MS VC++ 2005 Express

After another "nmake ... clean" it seems to have compiled without errors and I have been able to compile the debug version without a hitch - seems problem solved - for now, at least ================= It started with trying to compile wxStEdit using wxW 2.8.4. I compiled wxWidgets initially with the ...

looking for wxmsw--d.lib for wxStEdit

I'm trying to compile the wxStEdit package with wxWidgets 2.8.4. using the MS 2005 Free C++ compiler After fixing the input to the linker for the difference between 2.6 and 2.8 for wxmsw28d_stedit.lib and wsmsw28d_stc.lib I get to the point where the linker is looking for wxmsw26d.lib. I can't find ...

question re _T() macro

As I'm - still - playing with printing, I notice that when I print or preview the output from the example 'printing', on the second page, where it tries to demonstrate the use of GetTextExtent(), that the extent of the last word, which is supposed to be "it!", does not enclose the '!'. Tracing the c...

I very much appreciate your taking the time to respond. Not really if you implement a print preview, and the user sticks with the same print and page setup options. That assumes that one will/must always do a print preview? I'd have to see if and how this could be done 'silently' and behind the scen...

I'm sure it can be used and is being used. My problem is to understand how to use it without having to repeat showing the 'print' or another separate 'select pages' dialog. In your reply you do point out what is necessary before one can calculate the number of pages - whether 'by hand' or any other ...

OnPreparePrinting documentation misleading??

I'm trying to put together a print utility - mostly for printing 2-up code listings and other such documents. After looking through the documentation and the printing example, I'm beginning to realize that the documentation on the OnPreparePrinting() function is wrong and misleading. It says: "Calle...

Dialog-based app updated for MS VC++2005

The attached zip file contains the modified versions for Marco Ghislanzoni's dialog based apps, including the project files for MS Visual C++ 2005 Express Edition (only) using wxWidgets 2.8.0 I have no other environments setup, so I likely won't be able to help much if anyone wants to port either to...

Looks like I muffed the reply as well - my problem isn't really solved, although I do appreciate your taking the time to answer. I'm trying to find out more about dialog-based apps. The page I quoted supposedly discusses this topic. The page you referred to just discusses plain dialogs, unless I mis...
