Re: Expanding a window in same time of the contained wxTreeCtrl

I beleive you will get more love out of setting the tree control to expand/grow when you create it, then leave it alone.
When the size needs to change, change either the size of the sizer and call fitinside, or change the size of the window and Refresh/Layout.

Re: Expanding a window in same time of the contained wxTreeCtrl

ive not tried it, but the obvious solution seems to be: handle EVT_TREE_ITEM_EXPANDING eta: or EVT_TREE_ITEM_EXPANDED then in your handler, call miniFrame->SetSize(newDesiredSize) then call one or some of the following, order may make a difference miniFrame->GetSizer()->SetMinSize(newDesiredSize) mi...

Re: Reduce: wxWidgets warnings during compile (GCC 7)

I prefer to do the -isystem in my makefile.
The biggest issue I see to your approach is portability. If you ever change your wx build, or build on a different machine, you will have to modify the wx-config again.

Re: Converting failure of a text file (from utf8 to unicode).

I had a similar issue with linux being unable to read files from windows. Adding new locales did the trick for me. to add iso8859 I did: edit locale files: /etc/locale.alias add american en_US.ISO-8859-1 just above the bokmal line /etc/locale.gen un-comment the lines (vim: 152gg) en_US ISO-8859-1 en...

Re: How to bind mouse events to a wxbutton?

Unfortunately I don't know how to make the code you posted work with XRC. it depends on if you need the button for other things or not. if you dont need it for anything else, then this will suffice FindWindow(XRCID("PTT"))->Bind(wxEVT_LEFT_DOWN, &InCallPanel::DownPTT, this); if you intend to use th...

Re: Problems with wx 3.0.x with VC12

are your VC++ directories and precompiler options correctly set up? (my examples assume a unicode DEBUG build since thats what I have open) precompiler: __WXMSW__ __WXDEBUG__ _UNICODE include dirs: yourLibDir\wxWidgets-3.1.0\include\msvc yourLibDir\wxWidgets-3.1.0\include yourLibDir\wxWidgets-3.1.0/...

Have you tried moving the add handler call to before you call Load() to read the xrc file?

Re: wxyield usage

yes, the handler gets executed.
I can write to the console and such, but the gauge doesnt progress, in this particular use only.

Its just one of those weird things i guess.

wxyield usage

I have a Long Running Task (~10 seconds) that necessarily blocks the UI. Basically there is a block of data which is retrieved from a server which the UI needs in order to function. In the event that the data needs to be retrieved from the server, I display a window with a loading message and a wxGa...

Re: Software Architecture for Reusable Code

no_cat.meme Forget about codelite. tomorrow you might be using anything else and on the third day you may find yourself using vim. Just write your class like you would any other class. You drop it into a project by "add existing item" or the equivalent in your IDE, or even just compiling it as a lib...

does this problem exist in Release builds as well as debug builds?

I have this problem rather frequently in debug builds, but it goes away in release builds.

Re: wxlistbox doesn't show contents while Sleep

I ran into another weird problem. I try to read the data from the file to the wxlistbox. I'd like to use some kind of loop to go through all possible 24 lines (= names) in the file. Whenever I try to use a loop, my program crashes. When I do the same thing with the code copied 24 times, it works. T...

Excellent. wxGenericStaticText works a treat. I just had to set up a custom XmlHandler for it.

Thanks so much!
