Best Way To Do Custom Window Borders?

I'm looking to do something like this with window borders: http://www.bat.org/system/files/11/ssv150.png http://www.bat.org/system/files/11/ss1.jpg Getting the transparency was easy enough with wxTopLevelWindow::SetTransparent(), but what's the best way to create the custom borders? Is that somethin...

Linking Problem After Switching From 2.6.3 to 2.8

I have an application that was building fine in 2.6.3, but in 2.8.0 it gets the following linker errors: wxControlsd.lib(wxSwitch.obj) : error LNK2005: "public: __thiscall wxHashTable::wxHashTable(class wxHashTable const &)" ([email protected]@[email protected]@@Z) already defined in wxbase28d.lib(hash.obj) wx...

Event Handlers Broken in Linux

I'm converting a wxWidgets Windows app to Linux and had some event handler trouble. I have it fixed, but I have no idea why I had to fix it in the first place. For the following handlers: EVT_SPINCTRL( ID_SPIN_MINFREQ, MouseThereminDlg::OnMinFreq ) EVT_SPINCTRL( ID_SPIN_MAXFREQ, MouseThereminDlg::On...

Thank you, that worked. It seems strange that Windows wouldn't have a problem with that but Linux would.

Problem with wxString::Format on Linux only

I'm using this bit of code:

Code: Select all

wxString path = paths.GetDataDir();
loadfile = wxString::Format( "%s/add.xpm", path );
On Windows it works beautifully. On Linux it complains about:

Code: Select all

warning: cannot pass objects of non-POD type

Thanks for the tip :)

And I've added another one as of last night:

SpaceTheremin - A mouse-controlled virtual theremin capable of producing some very strange sounds.

AlgoRhythmia, PixelSwapper, Proxima Controller, others

I've written and released a handful of apps for Windows using wxWidgets. Here they are: Freeware: Proxima Controller - A pc-keyboard-based MIDI controller. Vorbital Player - An OGG Vorbis file player. Sample Rate and BPM Calculator - Lets you calculate the BPM or sample rate change needed in order t...

Also, when deleting an array you should use "delete[]" instead of "delete" to be sure memory is freed properly.

There's a problem with this statement: strFilename.sprintf( "Arbeitszeit je Baugruppe %s-%s" , m_dtFrom.Format( "%m/%Y").GetData() , m_dtTo.Format( "%m/%Y").GetData() ); When I use strFilename.sprintf( "Arbeitszeit je Baugruppe %s-%s" , "1" , "2" ); The code works great. You'll have to find a differ...

Could someone possibly direct me what file(s) to look in for the msw drawing code for a wxSlider?

I've looked at msw/slider95.cpp, but that doesn't appear to contain anything related to rendering a wxSlider control.

You should enclose all of your string literals in the _() macro. So if you have a constant string named "text" you would use _("text") so wxWidgets will automatically convert to unicode in a unicode build. As for using const char variables, you might want to use wxChar instead. I don't use Unicode m...

I don't know whether there's a built-in way, but you could override the OnPaint routine in the derived class and send some sort of trigger or notification there. For instance: class DerivedClass : public wxBitmap { ... void OnPaint( wxPaintEvent& event ); ... }; EVENT_PAINT( DerivedClass::OnPaint ) ...

wxSlider OnPaint Problem

I'm trying to implement a bitmap-based slider. It almost works, but not quite. The way it's supposed to work is that there are two bitmaps - a background bitmap (contains tick marks or whatever one desires) and an indicator bitmap (contains the position indicator). The trouble I have is threefold: 1...
