I can use wxBell() to "ring the bell".

But it put out sound on the normal speakers (wave). How can I use the good old beeping PC-Speaker with wxWidgets?

all win32 libs (comctl32, ole32, ...) must be after wx libs (wxbase29u, wxmsw29u_core, ...). What makefile do you use? Ok, now all winlibs are at last. The linker command mingw32-g++.exe -LC:\wxWidgets\lib\gcc_lib -LC:\MinGW\lib -o .\blackfiskRs.exe .out\objs_rels\src\BFAboutDlg.o .out\objs_rels\sr...

Hm... I build my release wxWidgets from SVN with that command mingw32-make -f makefile.gcc SHARED=0 BUILD=release I have some missing references while linking but can not found out what is missing there. -------------- Build: Win32 - Release Static in blackfisk --------------- mingw32-g++.exe -LC:\w...

wxDialog doesn't close correct

I created my own "answering box" (yes, no, cancel) derived from a wxDialog. The problem is that I always need to push the buttons two(!) times before the dialog closes. It is mysterios! I can not see why. I minimized the code and attached it as a Code::Blocks project to this post. But first here is ...

I have no PID of the process.

And by the way the process has no window, too.

For example there is my own application app.exe running. And now it want's to know if wxcron.exe is still running, too.

hidden wxAppConsole?

Is it possible to hide a wxAppConsole application? I mean it won't be displayed in the taskbar or systray or desktop?

Of course I could do it with a wxApp, but what is about wxAppConsole?

I created a minimal expample to reproduce the error. That is the code. The application class #include "PTBApp.h" #include <wx/url.h> #include <wx/filename.h> #include "PTBTaker.h" IMPLEMENT_APP_CONSOLE(PTBApp); /*virtual*/ bool PTBApp::OnInit() { wxSocketBase::Initialize(); // start the thread PTBTa...

[linux] delete configurations

I am using wx in a lot of different versions and builds on Ubuntu-Linux.

wx-config show me a lot of availabel wx-builds.

How can I delete them? For example I am using wx2.9 (from SVN) but there is 2.8.9, too. How can I delete it from my system and the wx-config listing?

seg fault on wxURL::GetInputStream()

I load a xml file from internet with this simple lines wxURL url(PTB_URL_TIMESTAMP); wxInputStream* pInStream = url.GetInputStream(); docXml_.Load(*pInStream); This three lines are called in a wxJOINABLE wxThread. And the thread is created that way // PTApp is derived from wxAppConsole /*virtual*/ b...

What do you use as entry point of the app? Show start up code. There is no main() of course. There is just the wxAppConsole derived class wxApp. class PTBApp : public wxAppConsole { private: // some declarations public: /// ctor PTBApp (); /// virtual dtor virtual ~PTBApp (); /// virtual bool OnIni...

As you described now there are more complex errors because of gdi. I think there should be another way to build a wx-console-app on Windows? -------------- Build: Win32 - Release Static in wxPTB --------------- mingw32-g++.exe -LC:\wxWidgets\lib\gcc_lib -LC:\MinGW\lib -o .\wxPTB_win32_rs.exe .out\ob...
