Originally, the only form of SetParamBlob was PreparedStatement::SetParamBlob(int nPosition, const void* pData, long nDataLength) In cases where the user would want to write a 0 length blob to the file, SetParamBlob(nPosition, NULL, 0) would probably be easier than creating a wxMemoryBuffer. I've be...

What value does buffer.GetBufSize() give you? I'm fairly sure that I tried GetDataLen() originally but the value was invalid for me. Looking at the unit test, it may have been an issue of my not calling UngetWriteBuf() on the buffer after reading in the file. The data length field in wxMemoryBuffer ...

Do you have the databaselayer and sqlite3 dll's both in the working directory or path?

Is there a way to see the stack trace when it crashes?

I used CxxTest for a while, but moved to MiniCppUnit ( http://www.iua.upf.es/~parumi/MiniCppUnit/ ) to eliminate the Perl dependency. I don't recall running into the same issue, but also I don't think that I had a wxApp derived class in my system. Here is how you may need to create the wxApp derived...

You'll also need to link to libpq.lib which on my machine is in the directory "C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.2\lib\ms\". Also, when you run your program, you may need some of the DLL's from the directory "C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.2\bin\" in your applications directory or your working path.

Have you considered trying DatabaseLayer at http://wxcode.sourceforge.net/components/databaselayer/ ? I wrote it partially because I didn't like having to set up the data sources needed when using ODBC. I should have no problem connecting to MySQL or PostgreSQL databases and running SELECT queries. ...

I'm not sure that I understand what you mean. Do you mean a way to get ahold of the database object for each backend (for example sqlite3 for SQLite and isc_db_handle for Firebird)?

The only configuration that I've tested thoroughly is statically linking to databaselayer_firebird.a while dynamically linking to fbclient_ms.lib (on Win32).

Sorry. Let me clarify that last post. It looks like you're statically linking to the Firebird libraries. You may have better luck if you dynamically link with -lfbclient_ms.

Are you linking with the firebird libraries? I think the filename is something like fbclient.lib

Could you explain your solution with the OCCI interface? The interfaces are similar enough that it may still be helpful.

Thanks!

If you search the internet for "wxFoundation", you'll see that this was attempted a few years ago and met with quite a bit of resistance. The events leading up to wxFoundation included Microsoft requesting the name change from wxWindows, and Borland's C++BuilderX including wxWindows as the default t...
