FLTK is a wrapper upon native API's like wxWidget (just much, much thinner); you would add nothing from implementing wxWidgets on top of FLTK. Bye!!!! Well, nothing other than FLTK's god-aweful GUI look-and-feel (since it does not render anything natively, it draws everything itself). And this is n...

Isn't FLTK another GUI wrapper or is there something else that uses that acronymn as well?

LoadString() method of wxIE broken with 2.6.3?

I've been using wxIE for awhile now, and I just updated to wxWidgets 2.6.3. Now for some reason LoadString() doesn't do anything. I might as well not be calling any function, because whatever window I had up there last just stays there. If there was no window before it, I just get a blank box. Every...

VS.NET 2003 - SHLWAPI.dll discarded warning

I'm using Visual Studio .NET 2003, and I've been getting this warning for awhile now: warning LNK4089: all references to 'SHLWAPI.dll' discarded by /OPT:REF As far as I can tell, I don't link to SHLWAPI.dll. I'm assuming something else I link to does, or else it's a default library or something. It ...

Is it possible you are getting this constructor instead? wxDateTime& wxDateTime(wxDateTime_t hour, wxDateTime_t minute = 0, wxDateTime_t second = 0, wxDateTime_t millisec = 0) You could be getting 26/27 hours, 3 minutes and 2006 seconds. The difference between those then would be one hour, not one d...

I've had the same problem in the past. I believe I ended up being forced to use an XPM as that was the only format I could get to work. wxWidgets seems to have some real problems reguarding icons and especially reading stuff from Resource Files. Here's the syntax I used for mine: #include "myicon.x...

What happens if you change the transparent color to a character other than space (" ")? I also don't have a ton of experience with XPMs, but can they be more than 256 colors? That could be it too.

That was it. I had a feeling it would end up being something stupid easy like that. I tried a few things similar to that before, but not quite the same which is why they didn't work.

Yeah, easily. Something like this will work: char* normalstr = "something"; wxString wxstr = normalstr; Easy as that. You can use a normal string anywhere a wxString is required. The only thing you really can't do is the reverse - something like "normalstr = wxstr" (though "normalstr = wxstr.c_str()...

Global Object Array

I'm trying to create a new object array using wxArray with the WX_DECLARE_OBJARRAY/WX_DEFINE_OBJARRAY tags. This works fine, at least for the class I'm declaring them in. The problem comes when I want to use this new array type in any other class. I can't seem to figure out a way to migrate it over....

Anyone know what changes were made between this one and RC1? Anything new, or just bug fixes to stuff already on the changelog?

I am not: wxBitmap * picture = new wxBitmap(nWidth, nHeight); That's the creation of the bitmap, but it seems to cap at 100x100. So unless wxSpinCtrls have a max of 100 then I don't know what's going on. Also for some reason the filling of the Bitmap is failing, I dunno why: wxMemoryDC memDC; memDC...

Re: Maximum wxBitmap size?

It seems I can only create a wxBitmap of size 100 by 100. Is this a limit? Or is there something wrong with my code? Also, why are there two things that seem to do the same thing (i haven't gone into depth), wxImage and wxBitmap. What's the difference? Are you using a wxStaticBitmap? Those have a m...
