What UML tool do you use?

Hi! im not satisfied with my current UML design software, its an ancient version of Metamill. Can anyone suggest a good UML modeling tool? Here are my "requirements": 1.- it must NOT be a java made app. (eg, VPUML), Java apps take ages to load and suck all my RAM. 2.- It should be free. (im asking t...

or, since youre using W32 code directly, use the W32 API function MessageBox directly. eg.

MessageBox(NULL, "test message", "test caption", MB_OK);

Im sorry to insist so much in this, but i still think the problem is your image file. Ill tell you what, give me your email address (or PM it to me if you dont wanna post it), and ill send you a .png with proper transparency information, so you can use it to test your code (replacing one of your ima...

I found no doc about layouting widgets. Look a little harder, its right there on the docs :D NE Way, Heres how i got to understand it. 1.- Download & install the evaluation version of DialogBlocks (you can find a link in the "usefull tools" section of the wxWidgets site. 2.- create a project, and s...

ABX, After reading your reply to my post and seeing phrases like Sorry if it doesn't meet your expectations. And then after a few years of such hard work I came to the post where somebody is saying like the work all devs made was not made. Thank You! you seem to kidding here and so on, i can only co...

Amen to that Ksmith! :D BTW: One thing caught my attention on one of your previous replies, you said: I have to go to each library, setup this for Debug and Release (as those are the only two I use - but it could potentially be more), which is something like 20 menus by the time I'm finished. you me...

Here is MHO, if anyone cares to know it. Why i dont like wxWidgets: 1) its too buggy! lets face it, too many things dont work as expected, some do work, but not all the time, some not at all. i think that the people developing wxWidgets should give top priority to fixing the bugs on the current feat...

The only negative point that I found is that Visual Assist does not work with the Express Edition. So??? One of the good things in VC2005, is that its built-in IntelliSense actually works. for me, it works fine with wxWidgets, and everything ibe thrown at it at least. So why in gods name would you ...

i think the problem lies in your image files, not wxBitmapButton, ibe used those several times and never had that problem. Maybe you forgot to set the transparent color when/if you created the images yourself? I suggest you edit your image files with your favorite image editor and make shure you set...

But what if the control is a child of a dialog (which is top level) which itself is a child of a frame? Your solution would return the frame and not the top-level parent (the dialog). Yep, i guess your right about that, if he wants to limit the "parenthood" to windows wich are usually top level win...

I do believe your solution ends up doing the same thing just in a more convuluted way. nope, if for example the control whos parent he wants to find, is a child of a dialog or frame he created without a parent (another "top level" window), the solution i proposed would return that panel or dialog, ...

Edwin is 100% right. I bet my right arm that the problem is the anoying vcrt dependency. Just recompile / link all your wxWidgets code (including the library itself) to use static linking to the C++ runtime, and your problems will go away :D PS: To the wxWidgets dev team: This kind of trouble seems ...
