Thanks for your answers, i been reading the sites for both nvu and amaya, and i came across another alternative, the "Composer" part of the mozilla package, has anyone used it? it is also a WYSIWYG tool right?

ibe tried everything from MFC, (a little)Qt, WTL, (a very little) FOX, etc. to voodoo computer black magic spells :evil:
and my conclusion, as Jorg said
even with its inconsistencies, and bugs, wxWidgets rules :D

maybe the Dev-C++ package doesnt come with contrib folder? if so, you have 2 choices: 1.- download the entire wxWidgets distribution (about 20 megs) 2.- maybe use a CVS client to get them from the CVS repo in sourceforge, but the uncompressed contrib folder is <15megs, plus you need a CVS client, so...

I think that the problem is that the error message you are seeing is coming from the OS (windows, or whatever OS youre using) itself. not from wxWidgets.

1.- start poEdit (i assume you have it installed allready)
2.- click file->new catalog
3.- fill in the directory of your source, project name, language, charset, etc.
4.- poEdit will scan all source files, and wait for you to translate them
5.- save the catalog
