Yep, its a Microshit error (as usual). I found this on goggle There is a way to fix this which doesn't involve modifying wx sources: simply create an empty aygshell.h in VS7.1\Vc7\PlatformSDK\Include directory -- this is enough to make dependencies work again. It works like a charm :D maybe we shoul...

Missing "aygshell.h" = Projects-never up-to-date

Hi!, when building ANY wxWidgets project (Even the sample ones), in Visual Studio.Net 2003, the build log contains this entry: warning PRJ0041 : Cannot find missing dependency 'aygshell.h' for file 'minimal.rc'. Your project may still build, but may continue to appear out of date until this file is ...

Thanks for your help.

Completely off topic: when i want to specify that someones reply (like yours for instance), helped me a LOT, and that it completely answered my question, i select "Assist" right? (or is it "Accept")?

Thanks for your answers, SQLite sound nice, the thing that worries me, is what it sais on their site about not enforcing foreing keys. Back when i used WTL to build my apps, i wrote a set of wrapper classes for the ADO data objects, they dint require seting up a DSN, and they actually worked quite w...

Thanks for your answers (and your patience for my noob questions) You don't need to add anything for the source files in the VC options since you have the libraries to link with. You also need to add an entry for the resource files, D:\wxWidgets262\include. This way you can add the standard wx resou...

Couple of questions on using wxWidgets on VS.NET 2003

Sorry for all the questions, but im a complete noob in wxWidgets (plus my C++ skills are a bit rusty) A- According to the Sticky FAQ in this forum, to compile wxWidgets i should: 3. Open wxWidgets-2.5.3\src\wxWindows.dsw (I use VS.NET 2003) 4. In Solution explorer select wxWindows project 5. Go to "...

well, about the better compiler in .net 2003, i cant argue with that. Its just that i used VC6 for about 4 years Vs. only a few months in .net 2003, so im much more used to the former. but what the heck, this might be a good time to "move on". Ill reinstall VS.NET 2003, and i will most likely be buy...

Thanks for your answer, i havent used those IDEs you mentioned, but i dont think they will have de excellent debuggin capabilities that MS VS have, and besides, i allready dropped some heavy bucks for VC6 and VS.NET 2003, so i might as well use one of those :D You mentioned that Visual Studio 6 is "...

VC++ 6 or .NET 2003 ???

Hello, im gonna give wxWidgets a try, the thing is i have both MS Visual Studio 6.0 and MS Visual Studio.NET 2003. And i have to decide wich one to install. Does wxWidgets "work" better in either one of them? unless there is a significant reason to use .NET 2003, i would prefer to use VC6.
Thanks!

Thanks for your answers, if i decide to give wxWidgets a serious try, i will absolutely buy the book, however i was hoping for an on-line tutorial, just to get a feel of what wxWidgets is like, and then, make my decision. Hello folks, im an independant software developer that writes apps for a living. I think C++ is the greatest language that ever was and ever will be, yet i now use Java, Why?? simply because i became sick of dealing with the worst atrocity man has ever created: MFC.
