No big problem, i was just being curious really. I can think of 1001 reasons to use XML instead of any binary persistance system NE way. Waaaay back when i used MFC i had a *TON* of problems using binary serialization, like compatibility with data stored by diferent versions of the app, etc. Thanks ...

built-in object persistance in wxWidgets?

Hi everyone, is there any built in object persistance (serialization) in wxWidgets (like MFCs serialization)? or do i have to use 3rd party libs like boost or XML?

why not just use wxString::Find()? eg. wxString txt="http://someserver.com/path/filename.php" if(txt.Find("filename.php")!=-1) { // if youre here it contains "filename.php" // test for "page=2" if(txt.Find("page=2")!=-1) return false; // contains both else return true; // does not contain "page=2" }...

Either wxGrid is quite buggy, its interface un-intuitive, or i just dont grasp how it works, cause ibe had about 1001 problems with it. i had a similar problem but with row selection. I went arround the problem it by manually selecting the desired row inside the handler. Maybe you can try the same w...

A quick tip: in that particular case, you dont need to create the dialog using "new", you can just do something like: void MainDialog::OnOpen(wxCommandEvent& Event) { wxDirDialog Odir (this,"Choisir le dossier"); if (Odir.ShowModal()== wxID_OK) { wxSetWorkingDirectory(Odir.GetPath()); } // Odir.Dest...

Glad you got it working. Just a quick reminder: whenever you want to integrate an aditional library for wxWidgets, like wxSQLite, wxAUI, etc. *remember* to also set the c++ runtime library settings to static on the library project, or you will get 10000 linking errors when you try to build it. I onc...

I had the same problem once, it is because the PC doesnt have the proper C++ runtime dll. so either: copy the c++ runtime .dll along with you app or (this is what i do and i recomend it, works great) rebuild wxWidgets and your app using static linking to the runtime. see this topic: http://forums.wx...

I use Version 2.62 of wxWidgets and the problem remains.
I dont think you missed anything. I have the same situation myself, i need validation ONLY (not data transfer) for 4 text controls in my dialog, and if i dont pass a wxString to the validator

trouble with wxDatePickerCtrl

Hi, i have a wxDatePickerCtrl in a panel, and im handling wxEVT_DATECHANGED, the problem is, whenever the date is changed in the control, i get the event TWICE, so i have to do something like... void PanelAgenda::OnPagActualDateChanged( wxDateEvent& event ) { static bool done=false; if(done) { // 2n...

Thanks for your answer, i finished the wxTimeCtrl (deriving it from wxPanel), and in initial tests it seems to work great :D the only "issue" i had, and im not shure if its related to deriving from wxPanel, is that when i handled EVT_CHAR in a wxTextCtrl class (child of the wxPanel derived class), i...

wxMSWResources 1.0 ready for DL at wxCode

This is the wxMSWResources class, a convenient way of working with resources with wxWidgets in MSW. The main goal of the class is to allow you to create apps that do not require ANY external files, like .mo catalogs, images, etc. It automatically creates a unique temp folder, allows you to extract r...
