I had this issue the other day. I reinstalled msys into a directory without spaces in it (it defaults to Program Files if I recall correctly). Then it worked for me.

Did you build wxwidgets with threading enabled? I think it's off be default, but I could be wrong.

Yes, the comma is bad, it shouldn't be there.

Don't see why that would be there right now though. :?

table->SetFromClause("");

Come to think of it........this might be confusing the query by wiping out the table to read from?

wxDbTable *table = new wxDbTable(db, "testTable3", 2, "");

The 2 should be a 1....as you're only selecting one field.

Do you only want user editable floats in this text field? If so, have you considered simply using a Spinner control that's capable of float data?

http://www.lehigh.edu/~jrl1/ has a spinner control that handles floats under wxThings.

Thanks Phoenix. I do intend to develop cross-platform stuff, though I'll be developing on Windows to start with. Is the combination of CodeBlocks and GCC ok, or is VC++ better for Windows and CodeBlocks/GCC better for other platforms? Currently I use CodeBlocks under Linux and Windows to do my deve...

I don't know of anyone besides DWORD that has successfully embedded Ogre in wxWidgets in Linux. He had to make a custom wxWidgets + GTK widget as described here . I had thought the "new" wxOgre widget in the wiki had sumone add the proper way to get the HWND in linux for Ogre. I could be mistaken. ...

I know some people are embedding Ogre 3d which uses OpenGL or DirectX into their apps so it should be possible. They've embedded Ogre3D with wxWidgets? I'll have a look at Ogre3D. Yes, I haven't had the oportunity to try to the "new" wxOgre yet, but it's on my list of things to do soon. Check out t...

If all else fails, could you embed an SDL window and have DirextX render to that?

Actually, if you calculate inflation gas was more expensive in the 20's and 80's I believe. :)

It's about $2.95 here.

Drop a socket connection without sending TCP 'rst' or 'fin'?

Tools: wxWidgets 2.6.3 GCC Windows 2000 Is it possible to drop an active wxSocket connection without the wxSocket sending a TCP 'rst' or 'fin' packet to the other end? Destroy calls Close.......and I don't see anything along the lines of "drop" in the docs that also don't call the Close. Exiting the...

Windows XP Home and cURL 7.15.1 don't get along?

I started having this issue right after I added cURL to my 2.6.2 application. My program abends with curl_freeform at the end of the stack-trace upon closing any wxFrame of my application(even ones that don't have cURL code in them). It also crashes with same error when trying to create/delete a bit...
