Just a note: I use the second form as documented here: wxXmlResource::LoadPanel wxPanel* LoadPanel(wxWindow* parent, const wxString& name) Loads a panel. panel points to parent window (if any). bool LoadPanel(wxPanel* panel, wxWindow* parent, const wxString& name) Loads a panel. panel points to pare...

XRC resource problem

Hi all, I have a problem with my XRC files that I have created with DialogBlocks. I get this error message I cannot locate the source of the problem: wxWidgets Debug Alert: .src/common/wincmn.cpp(945): assert "GetChildren().Find((wxWindow*)child) failed in AddChild(): AddChild called twice This is t...

lbDMF 1.0rc3 has been released (including SQL DB prototyper)

Short: DMF - Distributed Multiplatform Framework is a project that enables you to rapidly create database application prototypes. You can model the ideas first in UML and then import. Later you may export for doing further UML modelling and also database schema can be reverse engeneered to be in the...

A python based database RAD tool

Hi, just to mention here, as I found while looking at wxPython pages... dabo is a RAD tool for creating database applications very fast. I feel that there is much work to click together a form to show data and still needs to be coded standard actions such as the CRUD based operations, even there is ...

Have you heared about codegeneration ? A CRUD application is mostly a boring job when creating the forms manually. I follow the MDSD approach to get faster results. I have also created a poll on it in the new sub forum . Using my framework helps me creating database prototypes in minutes. This is do...

What do you think ?

There was a component named wx3DES ?

But I didn't find it any more.

Is it still available or should I use other implementations.

I also prefer plain C version if some are available (possibly platform independent).

Thanks

I think both variants are usable. But with subclassing I think I have also to do similar things as of Subclassing WxControl . Otoh I think, a 'layout switch' button doesn't have to be in the form. The more I think about, form and grid views should be separate implementations and the switching should...

How much code could be generated for database applications ?

Hi, I wan't to know something about how much code could be generated for a database application ? Comments should be made about why not more code could be generated. I claim 100% :-) Why ? Even the spallest unique piece could be generated in the second development iteration. This seems to be less th...

That is the code. I missed one line (the closing bracket). The function is called within my init routine and the creation of my panel is done in the two step creation. I cannot let LoadPanel create the panel, only their contents. The shown function is a member function of my derived wxPanel class. T...

thePanel is this. The code that assigns it is conditional the right line (thePanel = this) is active. The call to new wxButton didn't come back. I only hear a beep. Probably a stack corruption. I also set the sizer and fit at the end (outside of this function). I may try the XRC resource in one of t...

Creating additional control on a XRC panel on Windows ?

Hi, I have trouble creating an additional control (wxButton) on a wxPanel derived class that get's constructed from a XRC resource. The code works on wxMac, but not on wxMSW (both 2.8.8 I think). Whats wrong ? Thanks Lothar bool LB_STDCALL Anwendungen::SwitchToFormMode() { wxPanel* thePanel = NULL; ...

wxLua and compiling with Open Watcom

Hi, is here anyone using the wxLua library compiled with Open Watcom ? I have trouble compiling it. The build fails at the stage of testing for existence of the setup.h file in the output directory, but it exists. I am using a monolitic DLL of wxWidgets 2.8.8 and wxLua 2.8.7. I would like using scri...
