What software update mechanisms are currently used?

Hi, it's a long time, since I have written a post here in this forum. My current issue relates to software update mechanisms. I had a look at webupdate and found it with a last version as of 2005-11-12 too old to be a candidate. Am I right with my concern? My next release should have an update mecha...

Re: Database class generator

Hi, have you seen my project? ( http://www.lollisoft.de/ ) I am developing this software for such requirements. Using UML - actually argoUML as an initial modeling step, I am able to create simple database prototypes within some minutes per table or object. The UML model is then exported to XMI and ...

Hi,

I am also generally interested in such a feature. Has anyone investigated more in such a feature?

Thanks,

Re: Wishlist:wxSqlite3RecordSet also has First/Previous/Last

Sorry for my late response. I do not regularly follow all forums :-( I think it will be possible and I have done it using another library that does not support cursors. Which library? Please be a bit more explicit. I have written a wrapper around the wxDatabaseLayer library. The library it self got ...

Detecting file version aka GetFileVersionInfo?

Hi,

is there any platform neutral mechanism to detect file versions like those functions from Windows?
GetFileVersionInfo: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library ... 85%29.aspx

Re:

if someone steps in and writes a great, solid, stable database layer for wx, and is ready to maintain it, I'm sure it will be welcome. There is the wxCode component DatabaseLayer developed by Joseph Blough providing a JDBC-like interface and supporting several database systems (i.e. FireBird, MySQL...

Re: Wishlist:wxSqlite3RecordSet also has First/Previous/Last

I think it will be possible and I have done it using another library that does not support cursors. First of all it is a question about modifying the library or not. In the case of my solution I have modified the library but in long term it may be better not to do that. For the performance issue I m...

wxGoldParser based interpreter?

Hi, I am playing around a bit with the GOLD parser and as I am using wxWidgets, I also play with the wxGoldParser engine. But when creating a skeleton, I am not really having a thing to be usable. It is clear to me to fill the several rules with real code, but I don't know how to start. I may fiddle...

The abstraction into a model and a view is the right thing I think. I am awaiting the Mac version :-) To the iCal image: I have mentioned the chandler screenshot. http://chandlerproject.org/pub/Projects/ProductTour/windows_calendar.png and it seems not to be iCal :-) My question is, how much work wo...

First of all, don't confuse wxDataViewCtrl and database; wxWidgets offers no database connection (it did in 2.8 but it was unmaintained and not very good so was removed). The rationale is that wxWidgets is mainly a GUI toolkit so providing database access is sort of out of its scope. However there ...

Searching for components

Hi, I was happy to read about a new component (wxRibbon) and like to ask if there are more such appealing components a (currently) modern (Windows) application contains. As I am using a commercial library at my company that also provides a ribbon I have seen much more appealing components in there: ...

Hi Lothar, I don't use a Mac, so this is a generic suggestion ;) Are you compiling -O2? If so, optimisation tends to do that sort of thing. Change to -O0. If that's not the answer, you need a Mac user... Regards, David Thanks, but that was not the problem. I tried XCode again and found a setting th...

DDD issue on Max OSX and maybe other Unices too

Hi, maybe here someone can help me with a strange thing using DDD. I have a makefile based build system, thus I could not use XCode to debug my application, as I do not know how to start debugging without having a XCode project. (xcode ./myapp.app/... does not work) The strange thing is that DDD dis...

There was a problem with the winuser.h include and no prior windows.h include. But I'll get other errors.

Due to the fact, that I still use wxPG 1.2.2 as I used wxMSW 2.8.5 and I did not exactly remember why, I should now try to update to a more recent wxPG version

Thanks

So, after some tries with my wxMSW 2.8.5 I gave wxPack a retry. The wxMSW 2.8.5 compiles, but fails to link. Using the following command without any modifications fails: Q:\develop\wxPack\Libraries\wxWidgets2.8\build\msw>make --win32 -f makefile.gcc SHARED=1 MONOLITHIC=1 BUILD=debug UNICODE=0 if not...
