What I'm trying to do is have a Opengl graphic displayed in the top right hand corner of a window. The final size I'm not sure of yet but roughly a quarter of the whole window client area. Some controls will be on the left hand side and some room is left at the bottom of the window for ant aditional...

wxGLCanvas & sizers are driving me nuts. Can anyone help

Hi All, Can anyone put me out of my misery. I'm trying to display and opengl graphic in a defined portion of a window. It seems this cant be done by putting the canvas in a panel (for example) so you need to use sizers. Sizers are driving me nuts! After looking at some sample code from Dialog blocks...

Just for completeness of the forum I solved this final problem. You need to have a event.Skip() in the event function: void Child::OnPaint(wxPaintEvent& event) { wxPaintDC dc(WxPanel1); wxBitmap Bitmap1(Image1, -1); dc.DrawBitmap(Bitmap1,0,0,false); event.Skip(); <-------------------------need this }

Ok I have half solveed the problem. I'm now using a wxPaintDC rather than wxClientDC. It works sort of (dont seem to be able to get it to repaint after loading the image). I thought I'd aslo try and display the bitmap in a panel. This also sort of works except that now I dont seem to be to close eit...

wxImage & wxMDIChildFrame

Does anyone know or have an example of how to display a bitmap in a child window? I have tried the following but it doesnt seem to work. I see a flash of the bitmap and more oddly a second child produced??? Any comments? void Child::Mnuopen1002Click1(wxCommandEvent& event) { // insert your code here...

Ok I was getting some funny behaviour but it must be related to something else because now leave it to wx ie the Destroy function to clear things up and it works. Thanks for the replies though

MDI interface and wxDevcpp

Hi all, I've managed to build a simple MDI app with wxDevcpp6.4 However, I am having difficulty figuring out how I should keep track of the child windows. I create each child with "new". The problem is when I close(Destroy) the child form, how do I tell the parent that the object is now destroyed an...

Re: Thoughts about a cross-platform IDE written in wxWidgets

There are a lot of very good free IDE's around, Dev-Cpp, MinGW-Developer Studio, Eclipse, BCBX Personal Edition... But they all have a big drawback: Dev-Cpp is available only for Windows. By the way, thanks to gururamnath for implementing a RAD-design tool for wxwidgets! Dev-Cpp is written in Delph...

In summary:
IDE is the best long term solution.
In the short-term though, I think a VC plug-in would do the most benefit with the least amount of work. Especially if we use wxDevCpp as an example.
In the long term would be nice to see wx-Devcpp used to port wx-Devcpp to Linux. :lol:
