the only supported port is wxMSW? (like it says at wxcode...) Well, I've tested it only on wxMSW, since I currently don't have access to a Linux system. Therefore I can't promise it will build on Linux or other platforms without any difficulties, although I'm fairly sure my code should be very port...

Thanks. I hope wxPdfDocument will be useful for the wxWidgets community. In the meantime I already made some minor changes due to a feedback of a user who had problems compiling the component with mingw. Since I currently have only MSVC for development, I was not aware of some subtle side effects of...

ANN: wxPdfDocument 0.5 released

The first public beta version of the wxCode component wxPdfDocument is available for download. wxPdfDocument allows wxWidgets applications to generate PDF documents. The code is a port of FPDF - a free PHP class for generating PDF files - to C++ using the wxWidgets library. Several add-on PHP script...

Re: Label maker and/or PDF library

I know there are some open-source PDF libraries for C++, Really? As far as I know there are only very few PDF libraries out there for C++. And most are not free, at least not for commercial use. The PHP library I used had some nice pre-formatted code for several popular Avery brand labels. So it wa...

Re: Convert floating point number to string with some format

Unfortunately the code does not work properly. Try s = DoubleToString(1.99996, 4, false, false); s now contains "1.0000" , but it should contain "2.0000" . Rounding effects have to be taken into account, i.e. d_int has to be incremented by 1 if the first character in s_fract is 1 (it's not always 0 ...

wxSQLite3 v1.0

wxSQLite3 is a C++ wrapper around the public domain SQLite 3.x database and is specifically designed for use in programs based on the wxWidgets library. wxSQLite3 has been tested with Unicode builds of wxWidgets on wxMSW , but should be usable on other builds and platforms as well (feedback welcome...

Re: Floating point number formatting and internationalizatio

Those standards are mainly meant for acutal wxdevs... most people use the STL these days outside of the lib Ok, using the STL allows me to solve my current problem, but I think the locale support in wxWidgets is an issue which can cause a headache. If you switch to German locale, for example, the d...

Re: Floating point number formatting and internationalizatio

Is there someone in the wxWidgets developer team with whom such issues should be discussed? You can mail the wx-dev list http://wxwidgets.org/maillst2.htm I'll do that. How do you currently do it? wxDataOutputStream? AFAIK wxDataOutputStream is for portable binary output only, but I need to format ...

Floating point number formatting and internationalization

Currently I'm developing an application which will be used in several countries. Unfortunately setting the locale in wxWidgets has a subtle side effect: when formatting floating point numbers the decimal separator used is that of the current locale, i.e. a comma in German locale. While this is usual...
