my aging LCD is showing more and more dead pixels.... sigh might be time to change soon

sometimes it might be other stuff not realated to wxwidgets... like pthreads. I had an app which used pthreads... and it simply refsued to die coz the thread never exited properly... and when it was forced to exit? it crashed... very typical, really.

two questions: 1. why are executables generated with wxdevcpp that big? (3mb for a wxframe and wxpanel!!!!!!!) Use UPX, the ultimate packer for exe's... how about instead of making a new class, I just set the parent for the gauge as the statusbar, like wxSTatusBar bar = new wxStatusBar(.........); ... ... ... ... wxGauge* gauge = new wxGauge(bar, ID_FOR_THE_GAUGE, 100); Only problem I got with that is that the gauge appears in field #1...
