I'm using SHARED=1, UNICODE=1, MONOLITHIC=1 but the file wxmswuniv28_core does't appear why wxmswuniv28_core will appear if you build wx in Universal mode. Use WXUNIV=1 along with the options you've used. Regards, Biplab Hi! Are you trying to cross-compile for a Mac OS? Just curious, because that's...

For one, I'm not an employee, as far as I know DB has no employees. It's completely written and maintained by Julian Smart. I know, that was sarcastic ;) I just mean... i've been reading threads lately and seems like everytime you post there is a lengthy recommendation to DialogBlocks, when the OP ...

... Hey it almost souds like you're an employee of DialogBlocks trying to promote it in as many threads as possible... I see no reason in saying so much fud about Code::Blocks (some of your statements are just false - there IS a Mac version.) I use Code::Blocks very often and find it very good. And...

Hi! Why not just cut your losses and switch to DialogBlocks? As the Code::Blocks home page says, it's being re-engineered and is admittedly buggy, so basically, you're working with alpha code. DialogBlocks, on the other hand, is mature, well designed and well maintained code. It has a central design...

Re: thanks, but...

OK, I removed those libraries that gave me an error: dbgrid, and some more. Now, i have the next error: obj\Release\EyeCareTaskBarIcon.o:EyeCareTaskBarIcon.cpp:(.text+0x2e):: undefined reference to `wxTaskBarIcon::wxTaskBarIcon()' obj\Release\EyeCareTaskBarIcon.o:EyeCareTaskBarIcon.cpp:(.text+0x5e)...

this is because size_t is essentiallly an unsigned int so : wxChar& operator[](size_type n) { return wxStringBase::at(n); } #ifndef wxSIZE_T_IS_UINT wxChar& operator[](unsigned int n) { return wxStringBase::at(n); } #endif // size_t != unsigned int so i have to define wxSIZE_T_IS_UINT Hi! size_t ha...

Hi!

There is no such library in the 2.8.3 msw distribution of wxWidgets. Go back to the codeproject site and re-read the entry. It must refer to a source for an external lib. Perhaps you need to get the sources for it yourself an build it.

HTH:

thx,
Dave S.

Re: MSVC++ Express Edition / wxWidgets 2.8.3 / dummy.cpp err

I've searched all over, and now that I'm running into the same pages over and over again I'm pretty sure I've exhausted the FAQs and I still can't solve this issue. OS: Vista Compiler: MSVC++ Express Edition 2005 wxWidget Version: 2.8.3 When I try to do a batch-build for wxWidgets on Windows I get ...

Re: I need some info about compiling wxWidgets with MinGW

Hello, I've some newbie questions about compiling wxWidgets, please accept my apology if this is a trivial stuff. I want to use CodeBlocks with MinGW on a window machine, and I want to figure out the followings: -What is the monolithic build option? Will it require adding a dll to my application? i...

#error "No Target! You should use wx-config program for compilation flags!" This bit says it all... include <wx/wx.h> is not enough, you need defines and many other flags. wx-config tells them The wxWidgets Manual also notes which files to include for which wxWidgets classes. Some platforms don't u...

hi thanks for that link :) what about wxWorkshop which is mentioned in wikipedia, pre alpha, but is it usable yet? also visualwx (mingw) seems like it could be good too? not to forget codeblocks and DialogBlocks too! so is there any advantage in buying say vc++ 6.0 or visual studio 2005 or dialogbl...

Re: Linker errors - no idea why!

I'm trying to compile and it keeps telling me that it can't find the libraries for the linker. Now, I have put them in every folder I can think of. I have included, and pointed them to, every folder I've put them in. No matter what I do, it can't find them. With the typical, recommended string to p...

One site for all things...

I've heard a lot of comment here about how it would be nice if we had one place to put all our code for sharing. That would be nice if it were possible, but frankly, it's a utopian ideal! :wink: If it were possible for one thing to represent all things for all people, that would be nice, but impossi...

I totally agree to the point that there should be one place for all those little code snippets that are floating around the web. If all the people with their own snippet site would help with the creation of the one and only "snippet centre" then I think it would eventually grow into a greatly usefu...
