Well, look again. You see the button is in the window created by the class in the .h file. Also, documentation for the event sink says the default is this , which should be the class in which the button is created. Besides that, at one time I had printf's for IsTopLevel in each class and both return...

Dynamic event problem

I've been experimenting with dynamic events (wxEvtHandler::Connect) and I've come across something that I'm having trouble getting to work. In synopsis, I have 2 classes, 1 in a .cpp file, derived from wxApp, and 1 in a .h file, derived from wxFrame. In the .h file, I want to create a frame with a b...

A cheap cheat!...

beta 6.7 doesn't know what wxTE_BESTWRAP is, so I select it for my multiline window and define it at the top of my .cpp as wxTE_MULTILINE!

fyi,

OOPS! What about wxTE_MULTILINE? :( That's needed for '\n' to be processed correctly. Otherwise it's all one line. I thought, perhaps, wxTE_LINEWRAP would work, but it doesn't. So, though a multitude of my problems have been solved, I still have one, I've got a message window that I have to patch th...

I think I answered my own question. I downloaded devcpp_4jun2005.exe from the link in your reply. Taking a guess, I substituted it for the devcpp.exe in my Dev-Cpp directory (saved the original  ) and tried it on my doodling project before using it on the real thing. It Works! :D Thank you for...

Does that mean that I can do what I'm trying to do? If yes, how do I get a copy of the code you're referring to?

thx,
Dave S.

SetAlignment for wxTextCtrl

I originally posted a question generally about this in the General forum, but received 0 response after 8 days. Here's the problem, and it's not specific to dev-c++ wx beta 6.7, but since that's what I'm using (the others I tried weren't any better and some weren't as good or up to date)... Whenever...

Why not just save your config specifics before you uninstall Dev-C++, then install wxDev-C++, and copy your old config files to the original location? Wouldn't that be simpler than having 2 full blown versions of Dev-C++ on the same system, just with different names? As was said, wxDev-C++ is just a...

wxTE_RIGHT in wxTextCtrl and/or wxSpinCtrl

I'm stuck and possilby a bit thick headed. I want to specify right alignment/justification within a spinner. I'm willing to use wxTextCtrl with a wxSpinButton, but I'd rather a wxSpinCtrl. I know I can modify the creation and OR in wxTE_RIGHT for style in the wxTextCtrl, but I'd rather do it after c...
