A way of linking SQL Databases and Controls

HI, folks. I'm thinking of some ways to link database to wxControls. I plan to start with a ListView that shows the records of a TABLE or VIEW. And I plan to start with wxSQLite3 since is the one SQL wrapper I'm familiar with. I'll do it on my free time so don't expect anything coming soon. The idea...

Also here is the link to Priyank's download page of wxVisualIntegration and wxVCExpressIntegration: http://www.priyank.in/downloads . Basically what they do is add wizards projects to the Visual projects. So you do Project->New->wxWidgets.

You might want to try with a GUI designer, much simpler and fast. Some of them are: -CodeBlocks http://www.codeblocks.org/, know is a programming IDE but has a nice wxWidgets designer. License: GPL -DialogBlocks www.anthemion.co.uk/dialogblocks/, ibidem but is not such an advanced IDE. License: Comm...

I haven't started with the database stuff yet, i'm just looking around for the best way to aproach this. I think what I'm going to do is to create the connection at startup and then create a method for each, frame or dialog to get the connection pointer from its parent. My program has a lot of neste...

For part 1, I'd recommend keeping a connection for as long as you know that you'll need to access it. Be sure to close any result sets and prepared statements as soon as you're done with them though. how should i create this connection??? Should i pass it as a parameter in every frame or dialog tha...

At first hand the solution i can think of is catching the resize event of the frame or dialog containg the listview and then set the new column widths from there. maybe somthing like: listctrl->SetColumnWidth(0,listctrl->GetSize().GetWidth()*0.2);//where listctrl is a pointer to your ListCtrl contro...

The thing is, that when i create a simple project UNICODE character works fine. But there must be something i'm missing from this new project...i've even copied it, and start from that but nothing. Still Unicode charaters don't show correctly. I really believe i mlinking every thing ok, but somethin...

I think you should work with an Unicode version of the wxwidgets libraries, it might make things easier. Then if you enclose string literals between wxT( ) you'll have Unicode strings. For string enconding conversion you look at this classes: --wxEncodingConverter, wxMBConv, wxMBConvLibc, wxMBConvUT...

I don't think is possible since i don't know of any way to do this in HTML, it is just not supported in the HTML format.

If you need more sofisticated printings you should look in to the printing framework of wxWidgets.

I' not sure, but you could try to get a focus event on the frame.

EVT_SET_FOCUS(func) Process a wxEVT_SET_FOCUS event.
let me know if this works...
