Re: mingw-get-inst-20111118 with wxMSW-Setup-2.9.3.exe

I would start with removing Cygwin's folder(s) from PATH. You shouldn't even need to restart the computer after doing that, just verify that they're really gone with procedure described in my previous post.

Re: mingw-get-inst-20111118 with wxMSW-Setup-2.9.3.exe

Sorry, for being lucky. :) Anyway, I googled for the problem and it appears it is always triggered by having mixed several installations of compiler tools. Are you really sure there is nothing that can be causing this in %PATH%, either per user or for system (run "cmd" and then type "set<enter>" to ...

Re: mingw-get-inst-20111118 with wxMSW-Setup-2.9.3.exe

I'm sorry for asking this silly question, but I'm curious about that: Why is configure and such necessary with MinGW on MSW? I don't normally use MinGW (I use MSVC) but when I needed to compile wxWidgets with it, I just used mingw32-make -f makefile.gcc UNICODE=1 BUILD=debug with makefiles provided ...

Re: wxFileDialog Issue

As far as I have noticed, Windows (and thus wxWidgets) can use the new Vista+ open/save file dialog automagically, i.e. if you didn't want to customize the dialog or didn't request Win95 one, you get the new IFileDialog based one else you get the Win95 look. Can look weird if both are used in one ap...

Re: wxSTC for 2.9.2

When I compile the library with MONOLITHIC=1 and then try to compile the STC sample with MONOLITHIC=1, it fails for me too. So it apparently is an issue with wxWidgets after all. It does compile with MSVC 2008 Express, so the problem is GCC specific. I guess people don't use monolithic static builds...

Re: wxSTC for 2.9.2

Is there anyone else out there that has successfully built the stc example with wxWidgets 2.9 unicode, monolithic? I don't have any experience with MinGW. But I needed to test if a certain piece of a new wxWidgets code compiled not only under MSVC, but also with MinGW, so I had to compile wxWidgets...

Re: whyt create the object of wxJoyStick Failed ,how to us

I assume you've read wxJoystick documentation but have you also checked out the joytest sample that comes with wxWidgets?

Sorry, can't tell you more, I haven't used the class myself and to be honest, I'm not sure how useful that class really is nowadays.

Re: Why wxXmlNode GetNext() occur error when I use wxFile

I've just skimmed through your code in the first post, so I might have overlooked something, but still: The line fl.Read(fbuf,fl.Length()); looks very suspicious to me. Can you 100% guarantee that size of the fl file will never be greater than 1024 bytes you allocate for fbuf? If not, then memory co...

Re: wxAutomation and Excel 2007

Don't thank me for my help. In case you hadn't noticed, my solution has a fundamental flaw. You can't tell if the Application.Run call failed or not, as this method doesn't return a result but the call can of course still fall. I may be wrong, but I believe this is a limitation of implementation of ...

Re: have context menu, need control id

wxEvent::GetEventObject() is of no use? But I think if there's any control associated with the event, it would be a menu. Usually you're interested in the event with given ID, regardless of where the event came from (menu, toolbar, button ...).

Re: wxAutomation and Excel 2007

Hi, do you have any previous experience with MS Excel VBA and OLE automation? I.e. are you aware of macro security that can seriously hinder your ability to run macros? wxWidget support for OLE Automation is also somewhat rudimentary, for example sometimes it may be hard to find out whether your cal...

Re: Improved wxDirDialog for Windows Vista and newer

At last minute, I've noticed a problem with my solution. I don't know how to disable "New Folder" button on IFileDialog when needed (wxDD_DIR_MUST_EXIST flag is set). :( Well, I will submit it to a trac anyway, maybe someone will improve it (highly unlikely but still theoretically possible). Thank y...

Re: Improved wxDirDialog for Windows Vista and newer

As I wrote, I wanted an experienced programmer to review the code before I submitted it to the trac. I think pretty much any user can do that here, that is, assuming he has time (I guess it may take about 15 minutes) and is interested in doing that. If anyone won't do that, I may try to submit it as...

Improved wxDirDialog for Windows Vista and newer

As I’ve been using wxDirDialog on Windows 7 recently I’ve noticed an annoying bug. If you set the initial path to a folder that is deep enough in the hierarchy, when you display the dialog it doesn’t scroll the initially set folder to the view (but it still properly selected). This behaviour (which ...
