Re: Question on wxListCtrl Documentation

OK. When it said the selections won't be sent, does that mean under some circumstances the control will refuse to allow multiple selection?

Re: Question on wxListCtrl Documentation

Does this mean that OnGetItemText() must be implemented in such a way that it has sub-linear complexity (like logarithmic or constant complexity)? I'm not quite sure what you mean. OnGetItemText() will be called for each visible item/column combination on each redraw. So it shouldn't take too long....

Question on wxListCtrl Documentation

I read this from the documentation: Virtual list control can be used as a normal one except that no operations which can take time proportional to the number of items in the control happen – this is required to allow having a practically infinite number of items. For example, in a multiple selection...

Re: wxComboBox wxCommandEvent blocking action

Are you running in debug mode? If not, please try that. It's possible that the debug version stops with an assert message that tells you what's wrong. Can you build the "combo" sample that comes with wxWidgets and check if the comboboxes there work? EVT_COMBOBOX(m_ComboID , MyClass::OnComboChange) ...

Use virtual wxListView control in wxFormBuilder

wxFormBuilder, as of the latest version, has only the complicated wxListCtrl as one of the controls, but not wxListView. Well, for this project, I needed to use a virtual list, which needs to be subclassed as DisasmListCtrl. So I went and did the subclassing in wxFormBuilder, and then when I define ...

Re: Interactive disassembler in wxWidgets for 6502

I was thinking of inheriting a wxListCtrl with virtual set, using each line as a row, loading from something like a std::vector which contains the starting address. With that, when selections are made, I make sure they are all contiguous and the control actually keeps track of the items selected so ...

Interactive disassembler in wxWidgets for 6502

I've been wanting to create an interactive disassembler. It would gather data from code-data-logging the video game you wish to disassemble. It would then provide options like this for disability; rts lda #$46 rts lda #$46 This inserts a space It would also allow you to add comments to what will be ...

Re: overriding not working for wxListCtrl's OnGetItemText()

I am using wxWidgets 3.0.1 ... According to the docs , the wxOVERRIDE macro is available only since 3.1. Can you actually find the macro definition in wxWidgets sources you compiled the library with (in <wx/defs.h>)? I cannot actually. Thanks for the info. I will just use the C++11 override keyword.

Re: overriding not working for wxListCtrl's OnGetItemText()

OK, I made sure to make the method const with override. It overrides correctly in C++11:

Code: Select all

wxString OnGetItemText(long item, long column) const override;
Still, where is wxOVERRIDE at? What header file is it included under?

overriding not working for wxListCtrl's OnGetItemText()

I am using wxWidgets 3.0.1 on Microsoft Windows 8.1 using as my IDE/compiler/linker Visual Studio Express 2013's Visual C++. I derived from a wxListCtrl with the flags wxLC_REPORT|wxLC_VIRTUAL set, in accordance with the wxWidgets documentation for when you use wxLC_VIRTUAL as a flag. I am attemptin...

Re: REQ: A simple application project and lib project

For Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 for Windows Desktop (including the Express version), I have made templates for wxWidgets applications. More details can be found here:

New VC12 wxWidgets templates for wxWidgets 3.0.1

In the spirit of the new release of wxWidgets 3.0.1, I have created templates for Visual Studio 2013 for Windows Desktop. They work on any version of VC12 you have, be it Express, Professional, etc. These support any combination of build: static, DLL, Release, Debug, Win32, and x64, in all combinati...

virtual destructors in wxFormBuilder?

I notice that when wxFormBuilder creates a base frame or dialog for you to derive from and implement event handling, the base frame or dialog's destructor is always non-virtual. I'm wanting to add controls to my application that wxFormBuilder does not support and use Connect and Disconnect for event...
