Custom control always paints background in Linux only

My custom control paints a grey background on wxGTK 2.9.3 but has no background (correct) on wxMSW 2.9.3. It worked the same on both platforms in 2.8.4, but the application is now using other features that are not available in 2.8. Code for a test app demonstrating the problem is attached as test.zi...

Re: Problem loading bitmap from .exe

I've modified the code to load a wxIcon for an exe then do the CopyFromIcon method. It works like a charm. Thank you very much.

Yes, first was the debug Assert, then the crash. I like the Assert, though because it gives details of what was wrong i.e. no such file, file of wrong type, et cetera.

Problem loading bitmap from .exe

According to the online documentation, one can load the embedded icon in a Windows executable as a bitmap. When I try it, an internal error box pops up and after I dismess it, the program crashes with a "Send details to Microsoft?" Windows error box. Here is the code snippet: bool loaded; wxBitmap m...

Re: 7.4 won't load

Thanks as always, Tony. I just checked the file date on my full installer and it is 2/3/2012. So the full installer still pulls files off the web?

Re: 7.4 won't load

The webupdater couldn't connect. I tried the old web based install which uninstalled the existing installation and then couldn't connect. Then I ran an old 7.4.2RC1 complete install which worked. To my surprise, after launching the about box said version 7.4.2.558! Magic! Ran the webupdater again af...

7.4 won't load

After update on May 5,2012, wx-Dev won't load. It just displays a seemingly endless stream of error boxes that say "strlen=539780198", another pops up as each is closed. The status bar reads "loading code completion cache". No project is open, this bug occurs before there is a chance to open aa proj...

Re: 7.4.2 RC1 installer

I also found that a new project compiled OK, but existing projects don't. My biggest problem is with a project that has the error "12 C:\Program Files\Dev-Cpp\include\common\wx\msw\dde.h:130 'wxDDEConnectionList' does not name a type" from inside a chain of includes that started with #include <wx/wx...

Re: Release candidate of version 7.4

7.4.0.66 Seems to have solved the XPM problem. Debugger seems to work good too, at least run to breakpoint, run to cursor, step over and step into. Watching variables seems more difficult, but I last used a debugger over seven years ago. I remember that one (Intel? Microsoft?) would display all the ...

Re: Release candidate of version 7.4

Same as comment 1 by jgrzybowski . I have one project with an XPM file. I get that message box he describes on compile, compile and run, and rebuild all. I'm sure if you have a test app and you just add an XPM file, it can be reproduced. Second comment. When I try to run from the debug menu, I get a...

Re: Release candidate of version 7.4

Downloaded it and used 7-zip to extract it to C:\Program Files/Dev-Cpp. When I ran the program, it was still showing v 7.3. So then I extracted it to a new folder on a different partition, E:\Dev-Cpp. Then I used Windows Cut-and-Paste from My Computer to cut E:\Dev-Cpp and paste it into C:\Program F...

Looking for wxVideocapture header file [SOLVED]

The source file which is quite old includes

Code: Select all

#include "wx/vidcap/vcapwin.h
Does anyone know where to get this file? Or else any reference to the Windows video capture API? This file is not in the application tarball. Apparently it was included in an earlier version of wxWidgets.

To avoid the two clicks, you can add a custom handler for the grid cell left click event. This handler can send a click event to the button. I don't have an example, but I have overridden the event handler to issue a nessagebox for debugging purposes. void TVGRidFrm::WxGrid1CellLeftClick0(wxGridEven...

Looking for an example

I want to display array data which has far more columns and rows than the displayed grid. I want to use the scroll bars to bring various parts of the array into view.

Are there any code examples of this? Or can someone suggest an approach?

HTML Help Workshop did indeed work for wxCHMHelpController. I would have liked to use the more sophisticated wxHTMLController but when I tried zipping up the HTML file, no data displayed in the Help Box, i.e. the box displayed but there were no contents. For now, the .chm file built by the Microsoft...
