Re: Trying send wake on lan, program faults out

It wouldn't compile until I made it 'wxSocketBase::Initialize'. Then it compiled but had the same run time fault.

Trying send wake on lan, program faults out [SOLVED]

I'm just trying to send the wake on lan packet to a selected mac address one time. But when it runs, the program faults. void wakeonlanDlg::SendMagicPacket(wxLongLong mac) { unsigned char buffer[BUFFER_SIZE]; int i; wxIPV4address LocalAddress; LocalAddress.AnyAddress(); LocalAddress.Hostname(_("255....

Re: Using Mouse events from base class

I compiled your sample under Linux with 2.9.5, it works fine. So, if it works under windows with 3.0.2(?) and works under Linux with 2.9.5, but doesn't work under windows with 2.9.3, then there is a very strong probability that it is a bug in 2.9.3 I'm going to mark this as solved and see about maki...

Re: Using Mouse events from base class

I built your working sample, only changing the full path name of sample.xpm, and it didn't work. There is no reaction at all to the mouse in the custom controls. Since I'm sure it works on your system, it must be a bug. I built and ran this on Windows XP with wxWidgets 2.9.3 On what platform and ver...

Using Mouse events from base class

I have a generic base class. It handles mouse events. For testing purposes, I put a wxMessageBox in the nandler to Left Mouse Down to indicate if the handler is being reached. If I use the base class, the message box pops up, but if I use a class derived from it, no box pops up when I put the left m...

Re: Can't run from menu or F9 or control-F10 [SOLVED]

Thanks. It turns out that the total path is apparently too long. I've always kept my project directories in a folder under "My Computer". I moved the folder to the top level of C: and everything started working. I don't really understand why, but that did it.

Can't run from menu or F9 or control-F10 [SOLVED]

I thought that the exe was unloadable, but then I had this problem with all the projects. I had installed multiple versions of wxwidgets and also codeblocks. I uninstalled wxDevcpp and codeblocks and all the wxwidget versions. I sent C:\Project Files/DEV-CPP to the recycle bin. I scrubbed the regist...

Need help installing 3.0.0

I've been trying for the last five hours to install wxwidgets 3.0.0. I downloaded and built it per the sourceforge instructions. I then copied libraries and altered the directory tab in wx-dev-c++. I kept getting errors of duplicate definitions in the linker. I then made a devpack and installed it. ...

Creating a debug build

I would like to step into the wxMSW code for debugging. Under Tools->Compiler Options->wxwidgets if I check "Debug Build" I get this error "cannot find -lwxmsw29ud" and this error "cannot find -lwxmsw29ud_gl" when building the executable. Obviously, I need to build the libraries with the debug optio...

Re: Custom control always paints background in Linux only

Unfortunately, that rips a hole through not only the Custom Control but through the underlaying Frame into the application beneath. I want the frame's background to show, but not the Panel's. i.e. the panel should be transparent. I tried calling SetBackgroundColour(wx*TRANSPARENT) but that had no ef...

Custom control always paints background in Linux only

My custom control paints a grey background on wxGTK 2.9.3 but has no background (correct) on wxMSW 2.9.3. It worked the same on both platforms in 2.8.4, but the application is now using other features that are not available in 2.8. Code for a test app demonstrating the problem is attached as test.zi...

Re: Problem loading bitmap from .exe

I've modified the code to load a wxIcon for an exe then do the CopyFromIcon method. It works like a charm. Thank you very much.

Yes, first was the debug Assert, then the crash. I like the Assert, though because it gives details of what was wrong i.e. no such file, file of wrong type, et cetera.

Problem loading bitmap from .exe

According to the online documentation, one can load the embedded icon in a Windows executable as a bitmap. When I try it, an internal error box pops up and after I dismess it, the program crashes with a "Send details to Microsoft?" Windows error box. Here is the code snippet: bool loaded; wxBitmap m...
