Re: Switch layout on button press.

Hi,
You don't need to resize anything.
Just call Layout() and the frame will be properly sized.

Thank you.

Re: Compile error WxWidgets 2.8.12 on Windows 7

Hi,
Why not upgrade wxWidgets to version 3.1.4? Is there a reason?
2.8.12 is very old and misses a lot of bug fixes...

Thank you.

Re: Updating OBJ Vars in Threads

Hi, Hi, Just google for std::vector. As I said wxVector is for backward compatibility only. Also - I don't think you need a timer. Just spawn a thread every time the file is added to the vector. Thank you. Hi ONEEYEMAN, I'll give a try to the std::vector in the new build. May I ask a clarify on the ...

Re: Zlib1.dll file was not found

Hi,
You should NEVER!!! NEVER EVER!!! use an unofficial resource to build something.
ALWAYS CHECK WITH THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE!!!

(I just wish all those outdated YouTube videos will be put down so that people will stop using them).

Thank you.

Re: My Frame don't fit to content

Hi,
Possible.
But before going this route - what constraint did you set on the frame?

Did you call "SetSizeHints()"?
Did you call the constructor with:

Code: Select all

new Frame( NULL, wxID_ANY, wxDefaultPosition, wxSize( X, Y ) );
Did you set any minimum/client size?

Thank you.

Re: Updating OBJ Vars in Threads

Hi, I presume when you are saying global - you mean class members. I also want to point out that wx containers classes exists only for backward compatibility and it is strongly recommended to use STL. Is you vectors read-only inside the thread or thread will change them as well? Anyway those vectors...

Re: Switch layout on button press.

Hi,
@PB, don't "Assume" anything - its a bad word. ;-)
@OP - what is the purpose of such switch? Maybe you don't need 2 frames at all...

Thank you.

Re: My Frame don't fit to content

Hi,
Did you set any constraints on the frame?
Did you pass any size parameter to its constructor?

Thank you.

Re: Remnant of the toolbar

doublemax,
Stupid me :D - it is actually wxMDIClientWindow.
However, trying to hide it on the iconizing, doesn't work - see the attachment.

Re: wxDataViewModel::Cleared issuing queries to my tree model (wxGTK)

Hi, From the documentation: If the data represented by the model is changed by something else than its associated wxDataViewCtrl, the control has to be notified about the change. Depending on what happened you need to call one of the following methods: Are you removing the items externally, or by ca...

You are right. It is the border of the MDIChildWindow.

So, what do I do to fix it?

Thank you.

Re: wxDataViewModel::Cleared issuing queries to my tree model (wxGTK)

Hi,
IIRC, that change was done to fix the problem with the wxDVC.
Check the history since you are working with the latest sources.

You will need to update your code to not to create the assertion.
Probably call Cleared() and let it to do its job.

Thank you.

Remnant of the toolbar

Hi, ALL, In my code I am trying to catch EVT_ICONIZE event and when it happen I am either hiding or showing the toolbar. Please refer to my images (attached) to what I'm seeing. My guess is that this is the toolbar border and I don't want to see it. void DrawingView::OnIconise(wxIconizeEvent &event)...
