Error log: C:/Dev-Cpp/include/tchar.h:272:1: warning: "_puttchar" redefined In file included from C:/Dev-Cpp/include/wx/platform.h:414, from...

Unclear category names

First of all, it is great to have access a "real" wx forum, so I dont want to whine. Please take this as the constructive criticsism I intended. I think some of the categories in this forum has unclear/confusing names. * "About wxWidgets Forum" Pretty clear. No change needed. Possibly, it could be b...

If a programmer tries to override something that he shouldn't, then it's *his* problem. WRONG! This is be basic concept of encapsulation. Anything that can cause a problem if handeled improperly should be private. That guarantees, that no external code can break a working, bug-free class. Protected...

I wrote a small library for loading Adobe Photoshop PSD files into separate layers, and blending them onto eachother. You might find it useful.

Double buffering is used to prevent flickering. This flickering will only be visible if the scene is complex enough. (Thousands of triangles.) You can use glGetXXXXX(GL_DRAW_BUFFER ) to find out if you are drawing to the front or back buffer. If the double buffering is working, it should be the back...

There is a point with calculating the size of controlls at runtime, if the user has any skinning software installed, like windowblinds.

In that case, it is a common problem that the size of the skinned controls don't match the original size. This shows up as truncated texts, etc.
