Re: wxBufferedPaintDC and default background color.

OK,

next week I will post a minimal example of what I mean which should be tested under Windows 7. (WinXp is no longer supported by M$ so testing on that OS is not of interest.)

Re: wxBufferedPaintDC and default background color.

Next try.
on the screenshot attached to this posting is on the left a wxPanel, the slider, which uses the wxPainDC and has a white background fitting to the rest.
The SpeedOMeter uses the wxBufferedPaintDC, which defaults to a black backgroud, but with the suggested code it is light grey.

Re: wxBufferedPaintDC and default background color.

In the screenshot this code is active but does not match the right background color.

Re: wxBufferedPaintDC and default background color.

OK, it was not clear what I try to explain. On the next screenshot I added the arrows to the background color. The slider has the fitting background color which uses the normal wxPaintDC. The SpeedOMeter and the Clock are using the wxBufferedPaintDC under Windows. Without any extra programming this ...

Re: wxBufferedPaintDC and default background color.

The buttons and the slider are also custom controls as the speedometer and the clock. All are based on wxPanel. The only difference is that the custom controls which are **not** using wxBufferedPaintDC have the right background color but the speedometer and the clock are using the wxBufferedPaintDC ...

Re: wxBufferedPaintDC and default background color.

Tested under Win7 and the result is not OK. On the left there are custom controls based on wxPanel using wxPaintDC. On the right there is the speedometer and the clock, also based on wxPanel, using wxBufferedPainDC with the following background color setting: #if defined __WIN32 //Background workaro...

wxBufferedPaintDC and default background color.

Hi, under Windows I must use wxBufferedPaintDC to avoid flickering which is not needed under OS X and Ubuntu. Works as expected with only one minor problem: How do I get the default background color instead of black? #if defined __WIN32 SetBackgroundStyle(wxBG_STYLE_CUSTOM); wxBufferedPaintDC dc(thi...

wxPrintDC and PCL6 ends the application.

Hi, I'm not 100% sure it is a bug in wxWidgets, but I'm set a bit under pressure by a customer. Ticket: http://trac.wxwidgets.org/ticket/16274 With the "Kyocera Classic Universaldriver PCL6 (A4)" printer driver the call to "new wxPrinterDC(data);" will end the application without any system warning....

Re: On OS X wx-config --cxx does provide more then the compi

Hi Eran, that's about what wx-config --cxx provide under OS X 10.9: g++ -isysroot /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/MacOSX.platform/Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.8.sdk -mmacosx-version-min=10.6 I would expect following: wx-config --cxx g++ wx-config --cxxflags -isysroot /Applications/Xc...

Re: wxSpinCtrl Look&Feel Ubuntu 13.10

Under Ubuntu 13.10 I build the library manually with the wx3.0 sources.

This is the commandline I used:

Code: Select all

./configure --enable-monolithic
On all other platforms, except for OS X which I also build from the wx3.0 sources, I used te wxWidgets 2.8 as provided by the distro.
