Re: [wxMSW][wx3.0.2] Sending Email from default configured mail

Thanks for the reply. I downloaded and built the wxEmail lib http://wxcode.sourceforge.net/showcomp.php?name=wxEMail . It uses wxOpenSSL.h header which includes openssl stuff but I am already using libcurl and other libs that depends on it. So, when ...

Re: Sending email, wxEmail, what are you using? (Linux, C++, wxWidgets 3.02, Code::Blocks)

Thanks marcelinux, I'm using Code::Blocks... I will look into your recommended codelite component. https://github.com/eranif/wxEmail Maybe I can adapt it to code::blocks. If I leave code::blocks, I'll probably end up using Qt, where everything is up to date, and every little feature ...

Re: Sending email, wxEmail, what are you using? (Linux, C++, wxWidgets 3.02, Code::Blocks)

FWIW, I believe that an "email" library is not something that should be a part of a GUI library nor tied to a specific GUI library. Perhaps it is better to use a GUI-agnostic C++ library for SMTP or a communication framework which also supports SMTP (POCO?). BTW, from my viewpoint the major (and onl...

We often think that in another country I would live better.

Re: Sending email, wxEmail, what are you using? (Linux, C++, wxWidgets 3.02)

Thanks Pagodi,

I had found this example in C, and was trying to convert it to a C++ command button/function, and actually get it to compile.

Curl doesn't look attachment-friendly, lots of forum posts with struggles and no outcome.

Thanks New Pagodi.
The easiest thing is probably to use curl/libcurl.
Have you seen any simple examples of send email in C++ using curl?

Sending email, wxEmail, what are you using? (Linux, C++, wxWidgets 3.02, Code::Blocks)

I'm looking for a starting point to send simple email messages with a file attachment. Looks like wxSMTP became wxEmail which isn't up to date, (wxWidgets supported 2.8, 2.9) Trying to compile wxEmail but something is strange. I'm really trying to avoid using Qt. All that remains ...

Re: Regex problem with UTF-8 string in mime decoding

So is this the original code from wxEmail or did you already add parts? If yes, which ones. The sample test program consists merely of a somewhat shortened extract from the function wxString wxRfc2047::Decode(const wxString& encoded_str) ...

... with the first test string :-) If you intend anything serious with regards to email sending and receiving, i don't think you'll get very far with wxEMail. Unfortunately i can't recommend any good open source library for that purpose. Personally i ended up buying CkMail. https://www.chilkatsoft.com/email-library.asp ...
