Perhaps, you might also want to use a visual GUI designer for wxWidgets. I'm using the free tool, wxGlade, to design the GUI for my wx applications.

Is wxdev meant to replace dev-c++ on the system or should you be able to use both? Yes, I have the same problem too. After installing wxdev, it overwrites my dev-C++ configuration file.
