Error using WxGLCanvas on 8.04 Ubuntu, Code::Blocks

Hi... I've been trying to the first two sample projects from http://wiki.wxwidgets.org/WxGLCanvas to run but I've been running into some snags. Here are my code::blocks compiler/linker settings. project>Build Options>Compiler Settings>Other Options:`wx-config --cxxflags` project>Build Options>Linker...

hm, I installed ubuntu 8.04, used code::blocks with exactly your setting besides the -DHAVE_LIMITS(_H), without the _H it will not compile. I installed OpenCascade6.2 from the Adam Powell debs and wx2.8 from the ubuntu repositories. Without success, I get a segmentation fault, the same with kubuntu...

I have not found anything in the openCascade forum. Only OpenCascade and wxWidgets in Windows, like HeeksCAD. It tooks me some weeks to get the graphical output of OpenCascade to work in Linux/GTK and now I dont like to give up with such a 'little' error ;) Of course I used the 32-bit Kubuntu versi...

I installed a new Kubuntu 8.04 (in VirtualBox), OpenCascade6.2 from the Adam Powell packages and wxWidgets 2.8 from the ubuntu repositories. To compile I have to change your cxxflags into "...-DHAVE_LIMITS_H". Now I get a segfault during processing of the iges contents. @Jonas Thomas: can you pleas...

It does not works. I build also an unicode version of wxWidgets, but its always the same: I get openCascade errors when using the gtk version of wxWidgets, with the x11 version or in Windows everything is fine. I have to use different openCascade cxxflags, your flags dont works. I have no idea, nex...

I run Ubuntu 8.10, wxWidgets version 2.8.8 It works OK. wxEmptyString, wxT(""), or wxT(" ") I have changed the example to use the wxT(" "). The empty string shows "Untitled Window" in the taskbar. The option with space does not. Otherwise as I said, I did not spot any problems compiling and running...

@Jonas Thomas: my iges-file is included in the openCascade distribution, somewhere in the /samples directory. The error messages occur during processing of the iges file, so if you do not load a file everything is ok. regards, Gernot I was searching for bearing.igs which I wasn't able to locate.. I...

I'm assuming there something pre-developed to move data retrieved from a Sql call via wxODBC? The ODBC library is removed from wxWidgets (2.9+), better pick a different database backend (while using wxWidgets for displaying). /Troels I've been looking at posts regarding wxODBC. Is this because ther...

For the wxDataViewCtrl there is no problem, you have to create your own data model object, and can put there all the sorting methods you like. About wxGrid, from 2.9.0 documentation Sorting support. wxGrid doesn't provide any support for sorting the data but it does generate events allowing the use...

Thank you for the suggestions. Seems like your the master of the grid widget  I just got the demo running for wxGrid. It looks interesting. Offhand do you happen to know if these objects have a custom sort feature similar to the compare event in the mshflexgrid control.. I used the heck out of...

Hi Jonas, did you looked at wxGrid object ? Take a look also in the wxWidgets samples directory to see how to use it. Also, seems to see that in wxWidgets 2.9.0 wxGrid has been slightly extended. It worth a try probably. http://www.roebling.de/wx30.html M$ world is far from the opensource, is possi...

VB6'er looking for equivalents to MSHflexgrid control

I've been looking at the vast ocean of wxwidgets and I'm looking a slowly replacing my vb6 code that I use at work. The core stuff that I do, is basically to generate a sql query through dataenvironment and the plug the result set into a datasource in to a mshflexgrid control and manipulate it furth...
