Maybe this doesn't matter but I have some new information. If using blit, and trying to use an alpha channel image as the source I always get a seg fault here: dc.cpp line 2502 const unsigned beta = 255 - pSrc.Alpha(); And if I try to blit onto a memoryDC (the above is a normal wxDC) then an assert ...

wxmemoryDC still an issue

I've updated my wxmsw to a new version several times but it still has problems with drawing onto bitmaps, at least those with alpha channels. When you use DrawBitmap() (this may be a matter of the settings) or things like DrawLine, DrawPoint etc it draws the wrong alpha value, usually transparent. H...

On windows I get a variety of bugs when drawing onto an alpha chanel bitmap with memorydcs. The only thing that does work right is drawing one alpha channel bitmap onto another. These bugs are present from 2.4 to 2.6 about.

?<>

Is this what should be used for a "progress bar", and also to add a cancel button to that kind of thing?

it will just be used to speedup the drawing process, since that part is the "constant" part of drawing I do not think there is any speed bonus here over wxBufferedPaintdc if that is what you are replacing. The downside of drawing to a bitmap is there are some bugs with it involving alpha channels e...

Libraries on which other libraries depend on, should be first (I hope this makes sense).
people always say that, but is't it actually they should be last? IDE's however tend to display them in different ways.

I didn't want to use scripting to create the application so I used swig to make the program have an internal interpreter.

Working fine with sizers and wxFileDialog (as child) you can extand create a file dialog with all item you want (file preview, extended infos ...)
Is this correct? As far as I could tell it will be modal and appear before it's parent if treated this way. Can you share example code? Also, what OS?

Alpha channel / dc issue

Im posting about the same topic again , but I am wondering if anyone has done something like the following and gotten "expected" results: (wxMemoryDC and wxBitmap from image with alpha channel) memorydc.SelectObject(alphabitmap); memorydc.SetBrush(*wxBLACK_BRUSH); memorydc.SetPen(*wxBLACK_PEN); memo...

MemoryDC drawing on alpha channel

Previously when a wxBitmap had an alpha channel and you drew rects or points with a memoryDC on it these shapes would have the same alpha values as the pixels before. There was no way to change this except to set each pixel with setalpha(x,y,val); I don't see that there are any changes or other solu...

memorydc, onpaint function

I'm trying to use this inside a class in an onpaint function but it seems to return an empty bitmap; bitmap = new wxBitmap(400, 400, 1); rast_dc = new wxMemoryDC(); rast_dc->BeginDrawing(); rast_dc->SelectObject(*bitmap); in another function where draw bitmap is a visible bitmap rast_dc->DrawBitmap(...

the left-click menu

On windows there is a menu in most applications that comes up wherver your mouse is on a left click. I generally know how to detect the click and how to make a menu but I am unclear on how to do this exactly. It should be different options depeding on what frame is clicked on and whats in the frame ...
