Solved...

Well, I've found the problem, and the solution, it's a bug in wx that happens in some special cases with wxRadioButton. The bug has been there for a while, check this post for more details. The proposed solution doesn't work for me because they're all one group, I can't use wxRB_SINGLE as it'd make ...

Start your program under a debugger and pause the debugger after the lock. Tracing the call stack and some breakpoints help you to find out the lock cause. Thanks for the help, I've already done so, but this was while using wx 2.6.3, and it didn't get me anywhere, I've tried to do so again today, h...

Strange lockup

I'm facing a very strange lockup, couldn't determine who's problem is it(mine or wx's). The lockup happens as soon as the selection is changed from any of the radio's to the other, and then you have to close the application forcefully. below is the code that shows this problem, it happens whether it...

here's how to do it

first in the resource, you should have something like:

Code: Select all

ICONPRG ICON "App.ico"
your resources seem fine.

now, in the source code, you should have this line in the initialization function of the wxFrame:

Code: Select all

SetIcon(wxICON(ICONPRG));
that's how it's working for me.

try this

I'm not very sure that this will solve your problem: gcc uses a one-pass linker, so you must change the order of your libraries so that if library a uses library b, you must specify -la before -lb. for your specific case, you should put -lwxbase26u in the end of all wx libraries. for me, this is the...

Slow linking when using MinGW

Hi everybody, I'm using the latest version of MinGW, compiling a hello-world sized applications that uses wxWidgets 2.6.2 takes around 2 minutes 4 seconds. I know MinGW is slow when compiling, but I did a simple test to check what consuming so much time, I deleted the exe, then tried to build again,...

adding new notification events

I'm working on a new control(it's derived from wxStaticText, actually) and I was wondering how to implement the new notification events(wxCommandEvent) for this control. after looking at wxWidgets source code, I did the following, and it's working, but I just want to make sure that it's correct. thi...

I think it's be better(more precise) to use some kind of a hash function, like md5 or sha1. for the contents of the file. but it'd depend on file size, so if you're checking for a large file, it'll be slower. here's a link for the implementation of MD5 in C++ http://www.codeproject.com/cpp/cmd5.asp ...

Recieving events from child windows

I have a dialog where I want to recieve events from child windows. to be specific, I want to recieve the wxEVT_MOTION event. I tried using child->PushEventHandler(this), so that I can handle the events send to this child, but I get a stack overflow as soon as this statement is executed, I tried also...
