no, if you set this flag, the sizer is not hidden ever. it may be the default style though so if you want it unset you simply call

wxWindow->setwindowstyle(0) or something the like.

wxALWAYS_SHOW_SB If a window has scrollbars, disable them instead of hiding them when they are not needed (i.e. when the size of the window is big enough to not require the scrollbars to navigate it). This style is currently only implemented for wxMSW and wxUniversal and does nothing on the other p...

Perhaps you should explaint a little more detailled.

What do you want your source to accomplish and what does it instead.

I do not exactly understand what you want but here is how I do it.

Code: Select all

myWindow win = static_cast<myWindow *>(FindWindowById(ID_MYWINDOW));

drag & drop in wxListBox or wxListCtrl

both classes provide a EVT_LIST_BEGIN_DRAG(id, func) macro but neither of them the equivalent to a drop.

I cannot program it myself since those classes do not skip the mouseevents I would need.

I need this to change order of items by dragging them onto another one.

I guess you need to do a lot of reading before you can realize what you want to do. to connect a button to a method in real time you have to use the Connect() Method (read more in eventhandler oveview) the best approach that comes to my mind so far would be to make your images wxBitmapButtons from b...

wxWindow::SetToolTip void SetToolTip(const wxString& tip) void SetToolTip(wxToolTip* tip) Attach a tooltip to the window. A wxWindow can have a tooltip as well as every class thats inheriting from wxWindow. when you try to set a tooltip to you wxFrame derived class instance, what happens? perhaps y...

I could easily solve this problem with a workaround but for 2 reasons I havent done this yet.

1.) its ugly compared to connecting a method that handles the event
2.) I consider it a bug (the method of the object I inherited my Validator from is called)

no one.

The problem is that when I directly call MyTreeCtrl->Validate() the DefaultHandler seems to be executed but when I call Validate() on the parent of the MyTreeCtrl the correct Validator is executed.

my MyTreeCtrlValidator::Validate() isnt called

I have a class MyTreeCtrl derived from wxTreeCtrl I wrote my own MyTreeCtrlValidator() which takes a wxString *variable and returns the tree->GetItemText() value. I have a Dialog MyDialog { MyTreeCtrl *tree; } MyDialog::func() { tree->Validate(); // this always returns true, it seems as if // wcDefa...

Sometimes I cannot figure out obvious things.

To clarify something, of course I did read the validator overview first as well as searched the boards but couldnt find help.

A big thank you for your few lines :)

own Dialog class, howto transfer data to app (wxValidator)

I created a class derived from wxDialog. This class has 4 wxTextCtrl members. In the c'tor I submit values for these controls. upon clicking a button I want to send the values of all 4 controls to the application (I tried sending an event but for some reason the dialog cannot send events, its not th...
