Question - control existence...

Hi, does anyone know how to find out if a control (ie, like a wxTextCtrl) is in existence, and indirectly setting values to it?

Thanks,

Hi, no, this is about the wxDEV-C++ IDE, the empty project module, and I suspect the linker.

App loaded in memory, Window(wxFrame) not displayed

Hi, I'm on windows XP, wxDEV-C++ 6.10.2, wxWidgets 2.8.7: I'm starting with an empty project, the code compiles ok, it is loaded in memory ( I can see the process in the Taskmanager), but there is no window display. I've going blind looking at the code (listed below). Can anyone see what I am missin...

Hi, my apologies. You are correct. I must have had something askew when I did a project save as and replaced a bunch of code. On a clean project there were no compile problems.
Programmer failure on this one...I'll close this out.
Best,

Question re: Templates

Platform is windows XP and wxDEV-c++ 6.10.2 Hi, does dev-c++ handle templates? Does it matter that the template <class [name]> or template <typename [name]> be used? I have a simple console project that the compiler advises "call overload" is ambiguous. Thanks in advance, jb

Hi, I suppose we can close this topic. I found that I could do it manually using the EVT_GRID_CELL_CHANGE event. This will require some enforced user behavior which is never the best practice, but I could then get row, column identified, which is a requirement in the app to complete the necessary dat...

Well, I tuned this up a bit. It is a low overhead, cheapo solution to getting a sub string using a delimiter. I offer it up for all of us non-expert, marginal c++ and wxWidgets folk. Instruction and code is included in the .txt file.

Piece function

Hi, I would like some feedback/code evaluation on this. I'm from the M world and use piecing of data routinely. In M, one can call segments of data using any delimiter, for example, wanting a piece of data out of a delimited string: data="John Doe^1/1/1950^123 South St^Cincinatti^Ohio^99999" Getting...

...I found the culprit, with the help of Dr. Smart, who emphasized what DaveHart had mentioned; it was the Exit control in the Menu controls that was being executed. When I removed that, all behavior became normal and my manual exit button worked fine. But, now you can press return in a textctrl and...
