And if it's a problem in the XML file, have you specified the used encoding in the XML header like this:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

Again, just an educated guess as I'm not sure if the above has any significance in wxWidgets.

I've no experience in this, but did you try these two steps (found on this page: http://wxwidgets.org/manuals/stable/wx_nonenglishoverview.html#nonenglishoverview ) 1. If you use the program xgettext to extract the strings from the source code, specify the option --from-code=<source code charset>. 2...

Also, you cross-posted this same query on two forums:

Please don't do that. Pick the one forum that best suits your question.

http://wxwidgets.info/?q=node/4 OK, so this is an old thread and this link is pointing to something about HTML Helps, so I'm guessing the page at this URL seems to have changed. Any idea where the original page is located now, or did I just miss your point? I'm also interested in this matter as I'm...

wxAutomationObjects in console apps

Hi, I'm trying to write a minimalistic console application that would automate things in Excel using the wxAutomationObject interface. I built the oleauto sample and checked that it's working. Basically I have copy-pasted the automation code from the oleauto sample into the console sample. These two...

What mc2r said above. It looks like you are not instantiating your derived EditorWndw. Instead you are creating an instance of its superclass (wxRichTextCtrl) only.

Hi, .rc resource files are Windows-specific. wxWidgets has its own resource system called XRC (XML-based resource system). There is a utility to automatically convert from .rc to XRC. It can be found under your wxWidgets distribution in contrib/utils/convertrc . You'll have to build the utility from...

Locale-aware string comparison

Hi, I am doing some research regarding internationalisation, and I was wondering how the wxString::Cmp method and other string comparison methods deal with the locale and different sorting rules in different languages. I wrote some code to test the comparison and it seems like the comparison works a...
