Do you think it will be in V7 RC5, or will it be in a release of V8.

Control '' has no parent

I am using RC4. When I create a new form the designer is not able to open the form. The error "Cannot open form ...wxform Reason: Control '' has no parent." is displayed. I looked through the forum and found a thread that ended with: cranger wrote: Yes, My .wxform file is in a different directory th...

Evidently nobody is using Crystal Reports. I did some more googling, and found a Crystal Reports viewer that is a stand alone commerical app. It's pretty cheap, and has a good command line interface. I'm using it with wxExecute, and it works pretty good. Best part is you don't have to mess with a Ac...

Using Crystal Reports

Is anybody out there using Crystal Reports in a wxWidgets app? I have started looking into Crystal Reports 10. It supposedly has an ActiveX report viewer. I have looked a little at the wxActiveXContainer, but i'm confused. I would like to create the reports outside the Wx app, then deploy the app an...

Thanks. I just read the chapter on building and installing wxWidgets in the book, and am about to rebuild a release and debug configuration. I'll let you know how it comes out.

Thanks for the reply, but I'm using the mingw32 compiler that ships with DevCpp. I will try to work these suggestions into the project. However, when I look at the project setting I do have the Generate Debugging Info set to Yes. As for changing the libraries, I see in my libraries tab where it is u...

That's nice, and CodeBlocks may be awesome. Some time when I have some time, I may try to learn it, but for now can someone give me a hand with the OnAssert undefined reference linker erros

Thanks

wxOnAssert

I'm confused. I'm trying to put a WxLogWindow in my app, and use it primarily as a system log. I create the window in OnInit(), and then as I go into and out of classes/functions I log the occurance, and I want to drop certian varialble values into it along the way. The log window comes up, which wa...

Thaks for the quick reply Chris. It sent me off on a couple day of different attempts, but I still don't have it working. Here is what I'm doing. I am using the wxVillaLib graphics library. I like it for the scrolled window, the popup menu, the ability to scale the image, and I don't have to deal wi...

Retreiving images stored in MySQL

I have an application that stores images as a blob in a MySQL database. This database can be either on the local machine, or on a remote host. I store the image in the database using MySQL's load file, which works with the database engine either local or remote by using LOCAL. What I want to be able...
