Re: Problems calling Refresh() from a different class

I just figured out my whole problem and it was a very stupid mistake. I didn't have a proper destructor in wxAnimatePng to delete the timer pointer that was created. Once I put that in there, everything works perfectly.

What a stupid mistake! Thanks for your help.

Re: Problems calling Refresh() from a different class

It does seem like that from the error, but the problem is that it works while the program is running. I can run the program for an hour and it will sit there running through the animation frames perfectly. Then when I finally close the window, that's when I get the error, and it's stopped at IMPLEME...

Problems calling Refresh() from a different class

Let's say my main frame is called MyFrame and I have another class called wxAnimatePng. One of the parameters in the wxAnimatePng constructor takes the wxPanel that gets drawn to in MyFrame::OnPaint and it puts it in a wxWindow pointer that is a member of the wxAnimatePng class. That wxWindow is cal...

Re: OnPaint in a secondary class?

Thanks for your response. I found out through experimentation that if I call one of TheSecondClass's functions from MyFrame::OnPaint, I can have another wxPaintDC in the function in TheSecondClass, and it works because it is being called from OnPaint. My problem is that I don't want to have to manua...

OnPaint in a secondary class?

I have my main wxFrame class that has its own OnPaint function that works properly. What I'm trying to do is create another class that will draw a wxBitmap on the screen. The parameters of the constructor for this class take a wxWindow, which is the panel that I draw to in the main wxFrame, and a wx...

Right. I did that in 2010 and it didn't work. I had to put each one on its own line to get it to work.

I verified what I said in post #2, and that was the problem. I guess we just have to get used to all of the differences in 2010.

I don't have time to verify this, but I think the problem is that in VS 2010, you have to put each additional dependency for the linker input on its own line. In the past, we could put them all on one line separated by a semicolon. I think it was viewing that whole thing as one file instead of a bun...

Custom app wizard for Visual Studio 2010?

wxPack comes with wxVC, which is very useful for starting a new project in Visual Studio. Unfortunately, it doesn't work with Visual Studio 2010.

Has anyone come up with a custom app wizard for wxWidgets that works in 2010? If not, can anyone show me how to create one?

Linker problems: wxWidgets 2.9.0 with VS 2010 Professional

I compiled 2.9.0 with VS 2010. When I set up a project according to the wiki, it gives me this linker error, and I can't figure out why. 1>LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'wxmsw29ud_core.lib wxbase29ud.lib wxtiffd.lib wxjpegd.lib wxpngd.lib wxzlibd.lib wxregexd.lib wxexpatd.lib winmm.li...

Is Soungle.com legit?

Soungle.com is a web site that is meant to remind you of Google, but it lets you search their massive database of royalty free sound effects. They say in their about page that it doesn't search the web for sounds; it searches their own database, which is supposed to guarantee that you're getting ro...

Never mind. I just had to set the panel that contains all of that with the wxTAB_TRAVERSAL style, and it works. I just thought it must have defaulted to that since it partially worked.

Tab traversal with several wxStaticBoxes

I have 5 wxStaticBoxes that each contain two wxTextControls and two wxRadioButtons. Pressing Tab moves focus from the first text control to the 2nd one and that is all.

Is there a way that I can get it to go ahead and tab to the text controls in the other static boxes, too?

Thanks for the response. I actually started working with SFML, and I like it a lot. SFML uses opengl under the hood, but it can limit itself to the computer's limitations. I found out the next major release of SDL will be like this, too. For a project that is so relatively new, I can't believe how s...

For this project, I'm not using opengl. It's just a simple 2D educational game. I'm already doing everything doublemax said. When the program begins, I initialize all of my images. I load all of the png's from my resources into a wxImage. Then I rescale them, and load each of them into their own wxB...
