Re: Gnome 3.4, wxTaskbarIcon default label?

Ack, not sure. I have installed the libwxbase2.8-dev and the latest code::blocks. How could I check / set the version of GTK?

Thanks!

Gnome 3.4, wxTaskbarIcon default label?

Hello, I have made a wxTaskbarIcon, and in Gnome 3.4, when you hover over the icon, it shows you the name of the icon. For my wxTaskbarIcon, this name is "systray icon". (Meanwhile, my dropbox icon is labeled "dropbox", so I know it's settable :).) I cannot figure out how to change this label from t...

Okay, I whittled it down. Try this: wxTreeItemId s = myTree->GetSelection(); myTree->SelectItem(s); Pretty straightforward. As soon as you call SelectItem() the selection disappears. I've tried using Toggle() here once and twice just to see, and that doesn't do anything. I can't see what I'm doing w...

Okay, thanks for your help and good luck with the bug!

Update: I tried selecting the next item *before* moving the initial item, but it still doesn't highlight. I think next I'll try just not moving the item at all. I wish I was at my proggy now, but alas. Must earn munnies.

I'm idly wondering if this has to do with the fact that I'm storing the TreeItemId of the next element and then removing an item from the list? I believe that is could be it. To delete selected items with multiple selection enabled you have to delete the selection closest to the end first and work ...

Hey Max, Thanks for your prompt responses. SelectItem() is precisely the method I'm having trouble with. It selects it (and generates the selection event) but it doesn't appear in the tree control as highlighted. I'm idly wondering if this has to do with the fact that I'm storing the TreeItemId of t...

This might be what you are looking for, wxTextCtrl::SetSelection virtual void SetSelection(long from, long to) The selection should be highlighted for you. -Max Hey Max, I'm not at my code right now to take a blind stab, but in the wx manual I don't see a SetSelection() in wxTreeCtrl or any of it's...

wxTreeCtrl SelectItem selects but doesn't highlight the item

Hello, I wrote a program that moves items between different tree nodes. I select an item in the tree, push a button and it moves it to another node. After this, I use SelectItem() to select the next time in the list. This selection process is working correctly in the background, as I can access the ...

hehehe yeah, that could work. I did do a bit of overkill to make sure it was doing what I wanted :)

just a shot in the dark, but if wxXml is using wxLog to pop that up, constructing an object of wxLogNull before calling Load() will prevent that message box. Docs for wxLogNull: wxLogNull Well, that's crazy obscure and hard to find. Thank you VERY much. It seems to be working! :) A note to whoever ...

wxXmlDocument and XML Parsing error dialog

Hello, I've written a program that successfully downloads an RSS feed and extracts information from the nodes recursively, using wxXmlDocument. It works beautifully if the publisher has coded their xml correctly (or within wx specs) but occasionally there's a problem, and in such an event I believe ...

escape sequence of URL

Hello, I've been using wxURI::Create and BuildURI to turn all of my spaces into %20's and so forth with funny characters. The problem is this also makes the characters lowercase, which is bad for me. Basically, is there a global function or something in wxString like wxString::Escape (similar to jav...

Crazy. I was on the wrong track. I added a FPS counter and realized that because I was redrawing the board every time a new packet came, when the packets all arrive suddenly, it would seriously overload the CPU/graphics card or something and poop out. I reworked it so a 10-ms timer is now the only t...

Thanks for the reply. I may be using the wrong terminology, but the way TCP confirms it has the right data is to send back something like a checksum, rather than the whole data. If several bits corrupt, sometimes the checksum can come out the same. I think this is what happened way back whenever (bu...
