Re: Running app crashes if screensaver kick in

Finally did get the sig handler installed and by now only the release version crashes, but it seems that it crashes long before my sig handler even get a chance to be installed.; at least it never does get called. In fact, now the screen saver has nothing to do with it, It crashes as soon as it is i...

Re: Running app crashes if screensaver kick in

Thank you all for your help and ideas. After another day's testing, it seems like it may have been (a) problem(s) with the app itself and which ended up being resolved by addressing other issues - at least that is my hope ;-) Yesterday it ran a good part of the day with the screen saver off. Today i...

Running app crashes if screensaver kick in

I've ported a Windows app to Ubuntu 16/04. Compiled under Codelite with static libs from wxWidgets 3.1.0, compiled locally. All is well until the screen saver kicks in; when I restore the screen, the app has crashed, though I have not figured out when exactly when: i.e. as soon as the screen goes bl...

autopackage still used/current??

According to https://wiki.wxwidgets.org/Installers an autopackage example is part of wxWidgets, and I have found the directory for the example in the wxGTK distribution of wxWidgets 3.1.0. However, the autopackage website seems to have disappeared and, while I have found some script named autopackag...

Re: Compiling 3.1.1 under Ubuntu with debug symbols

Thank you both.
As I have resolved my compile & trace issues with 3.1.0, I will leave 3.1.1 for another day ;-)

Re: Compiling under Ubuntu 16.04 & wxDialUpManager

I think I have some ideas about why I cannot step into the library code, but I need to wait for a response/solution from the Codelite forum before I chase this any further

Compiling 3.1.1 under Ubuntu with debug symbols

In an effort to get some issues resolved by tracing into the wxWIdgets code, I have installed wxWidgets 3.1.1 from https://github.com/wxWidgets/wxWidgets/releases/tag/v3.1.1 as a zip file. After unzipping I am trying to compile it with: ...... /wxWidgets-3.1.1/gtk-build$ ../configure --enable-debug ...

Re: Compiling under Ubuntu 16.04 & wxDialUpManager

I'm not sure, but I think that the dial-up manager is for the dial-up modems. For anything external you should use something else. All I can say, is that under Windows it does tell me the status of my Internet cable and under Ubuntu it does NOT P.S.: Are you able to step inside the wx sources for t...

Running Helpdemo under Ubuntu

I've just compiles the help demo sample under Ubuntu 16.04 and it does not seem to be able to open the data file. Using sudo make in the directory sample/help. When it is run, the demo app opens up and I get the error: Unable to open requested HTML document: file:///home/xxxx/public/wxWidgets-3.1.0/...

Re: Compiling under Ubuntu 16.04 & wxDialUpManager

I compiled it using Codelite, I have run it under Codelite's debugger and I have run it directly from the command line with sudo ./dialup.
Same result each time.

I don't have a phone modem, but I do have a DSL modem which is connected to a phone line.

Re: Compiling under Ubuntu 16.04 & wxDialUpManager

Right now I am mostly running the app under Codelite which is started using sudo. I have also run it directly, again running it via sudo with my main user being an admin. Every time, it is shown as 'offline' even though I am sure the machine is connected and when I disconnect the network cable, the ...

Re: Compiling under Ubuntu 16.04 & wxDialUpManager

What does it report? What error message if any did you receive? no error message - just no output at all. The code I have does work properly under Windows but not under Linux. Now, in CodeLite all you have to do is to point the properties of the project to your compiled headers/libraries and do a f...

Re: Compiling under Ubuntu 16.04 & wxDialUpManager

First off, you have a typo: Thank you - I missed that one and had to remove the --with-gtk option altogether. Without it it all compiles with GTK+ 2 support and my app compiles and runs. Second, does configure finished without any issues? How did you get the source code for 3.1? Do you see the rege...
