Because they technically are the same

If I want to have multiple main windows I would just show multiple a non blocking dialogs

Its just seems like there isn't anything useful in having one class for the app and one class for the MainFrame. It just makes 2 unnecessary files.

It would be easier to either derive from both App and the type of Frame I want or for wxwidgets to provide global functions to boot and manage windows

@doublemax so what about writing a simple wrapper library for wx widgets and blit things onto the allegro window?
then I can just use use allegro functions to draw onto controls.
