Re: Missing define in makefile.vc for dataview sample in wx313 causes failure

Hello, stddef.h is provided as part of Microsoft's SDK for Windows 10. I've replaced it. Have run the makefile outside of the codeblocks IDE; without any problems. Codeblocks IDE still hiccups, asking for stddef.h. Am addressing the toolchain possibly being mis-configed by following a codeblocks wik...

Re: Missing define in makefile.vc for dataview sample in wx313 causes failure

@stahta01: What's wrong with the toolchain configuration on codeblocks? I've successfully used makefiles, for this sample, with both GCC and VC from the command line. I also used a makefile with VS2019 and it worked. Since you also claim you're a solver for codeblocks, I'd appreciate some enlightenm...

Missing define in makefile.vc for dataview sample in wx313 causes failure

After importing sample makefile.vc into Codeblocks IDE, i can 'clean' it, but 'build' or 'reduild fails with the following error: -------------- Build: Debug x64 in dataview (compiler: mvc x64)--------------- Checking if target is up-to-date: nmake.exe -q -f c:\wxwidg~1.3\samples\dataviewcbvcmake2\m...

Re: Can dlls be included for use with makefiles

@PB
Thanks for response and comment This was the first time that I've ever used make or nmake. I did build executables with both MSVC and GCC; both with and without dlls. I haven't tried doing it with @ command files yet, but will?!

Regards

Re: Can dlls be included for use with makefiles

@ONEEYEMAN: Thanks for your response and comments!! Yes, I have removed both "MONOLITH" and "UNICODE" from all commands. With "BUILD" being set to debug or release and "SHARED" being used or removed, I was able to create commands to generate executables with both VC 16.0 and GCC 8.1. Yes, After plac...

Re: wxWidgets + Windows + CMake

Had the same issue about a year ago. If you use a 64-bit command prompt (should be available from your menu) which is provided with VC and/or VS, cmake-gui will find the compilers correctly.

Can dlls be included for use with makefiles

Hello, When executables built with GCC 8.1 make, or VC 16.0 nmake, that use ddls, display a dialog that states a particular dll is missing and that it should possibly be added. Is this an additional step that needs to be done after running the make file or can it be made part of the make command? Fo...

Re: Minimal Sample in Codeblocks on Win10

@oneeyeman Thank you for that little pearl of wisdom! @Stahta01/Tim S. Your suggestion to use VC was right-on! I finally read the install document provided by wxWidgets (I skimmed through it, ignoring most of it, a couple weeks ago). It covered creating the libraries with VS, VC, GCC and Cygwin. I c...

Re: Minimal Sample in Codeblocks on Win10

I used the TDM-GCC-64 Suite to build wxWidgets and CB. I am striving to use wxWidgets in a 64-bit sample app. It looks like the way i am trying to implement wxWidget is what's causing me all the grief. I was using too many wxWidgets include directories. I have reduced the number with good results. I...

Re: Minimal Sample in Codeblocks on Win10

I used the instructions from CB to build both wxWidgets from source and CB from SVN source. I used the makefile.gcc. I am using both VS2017 Community and BuildTools, which are both free from MS. CB has a wiki page that gives instructions about updating the VC compiler (It refers to the VC 2003 Toolk...

Re: Minimal Sample in Codeblocks on Win10

Hello Tim, I've had to restore my AMD64 Win10 desktop system and rebuild the MFC samples. The wxwidgets minimal sample now doesn't compile, let alone try to open minimal.exe. The build log is attached. Any suggestions would be appreciated?! Also, I've tried compiling your batch build sample from 201...

Minimal Sample in Codeblocks on Win10

I've been able to create an .obj file, but the linker says it cannot open the minimal executable. I am using wx31, compiled from source as a monolithic ddl. The install instructions say that I can ignore listing libraries, since I'm using a Visual C++ compiler. I am trying to build both a 64-bit Rel...
