Handling Long Paths in wxWidgets

Hi devs, I have a use case that requires that my application handles long path names ( over 260 chars ). Currently building against 3.1.4 Unicode and testing this on Windows 10. Pre-pending the usual Win32 prefix "\\?\" does not seem to work. Here is a code snippet: wxString Path = "........"; wxStr...

wxDataViewListCtrl: Weird column sizing issues

Hey devs, Currently experiencing some weird behavior with wxDataViewListCtrl on Windows. Here's the situation: I have a wxDVLCTRL with two columns: one check and one text column. Previously, I used the wxCOL_WIDTH_DEFAULT size option and everything worked great on the machines I tested this control ...

Re: wxRibbon Office 2010 / Metro ArtProvider

iwbnwif,

Thanks for the reply, you just saved me about another week on this. Really feel like this is something that should have been integrated into wx by now.

Re: wxRibbon Office 2010 / Metro ArtProvider

Sorry to bump this old thread up everyone  , just wondering if anyone has made any progress on updating the default wxRibbonArtProvider. I've managed to work on a few things like removing the rounded edges of the panels, tabs and buttons, currently trying to eliminate all the gradient drawing ...

Re: wxDataViewListCtrl performance issues + crashes

Anil, I think that might be exactly what I was looking for thank you. I should probably have phrased the question better. I've noticed an improvement in filling performance by locking the updates to the wxDVLC as you suggest. Regarding the other part of the question ( the crashes ) those are probabl...

Re: wxDataViewListCtrl performance issues + crashes

I guess the biggest advantage for me anyway of the wxDVLC is that I don't have to store or handle the list data especially since I have several of them. I initially thought of using the wxListCtrl in virtual mode as you suggest but I didn't go through with it as I realized I'd have to re-do the item...

Re: wxDataViewListCtrl performance issues + crashes

Thanks for the quick response doublemax, I'll look into reproducing the issue if possible, though as you've pointed out, I've just realized I am using the control in a multi threaded app so there could be something funny going on. Regarding the control itself, I think both the usage and filling perf...

wxDataViewListCtrl performance issues + crashes

Hi everyone, I've been a long time lurker of this forum and just recently decided to register because of a problem I've been having with wxDataViewListCtrl. Not sure if anyone else has come across this, I have a few wxDataViewListCtrl's that contain simple list data ( maximum of about four columns o...
