Re: Why there is no compiled WxWidgets version?

I have no idea what build system are you talking about, gtafan. Normally one would use a batch file, such as ones here https://github.com/PBfordev/wxpbguide/tree/master/bats/build Nevertheless, here is a fast, correct command to build wxWidgets in the same configuration you had mingw32-make -f make...

Re: Why there is no compiled WxWidgets version?

SHARED=0 was not the problem, just wanted to know if the comandline from my previous post could worck and produce exactly what I need. Looks like I have to write that auto build tool, mentioned befor, on my own. Just 1 question, can I redirect output from external comandline, like the one produced w...

Re: Why there is no compiled WxWidgets version?

I have very little knowledge of GCC but I have built many wxWidgets versions in different configurations using different flavors of MinGW, with GCC versions ranging from 5 to 10 so I do know a bit about wxWidgets build options. The command line I posted before certainly works. The comandline that w...

Re: Why there is no compiled WxWidgets version?

That comandline is a bit longer, at least if you want to have it build the way you want. What are you missing in the command line compared to the official build (static vs shared aside)? That is how I build wxWidgets for myself with MSVC (the only difference there is using nmake instead of mingw32-...

Re: Why there is no compiled WxWidgets version?

Sorry but have to disagree, using comandline is not easy if you not Linux user and half an hour for building is defenetly not quik. On that oficial download site there are only dll builds I can find, but I need static ones. I have never used Linux either and I can build wxWidgets with command line ...

Re: Why there is no compiled WxWidgets version?

It is also listed on the Downloads page of the website, i.e., not that hard to find wxmingwgcc810dl.png However, the combination of threads and exception handling settings used may not be to everyone's liking. But it SO easy and quick to build wxWidgets on MSW, which is one of the reasons why it is...

Every time you saved a project, wxCrafter used to ask if you would like to buy a licence. 'Repeatedly asking' == 'nagging'.
Now it doesn't do that; it is Free OpenSource Software, just like CodeLite itself.
Thanks for explanation.

Re: good and simple to use IDE for wxWidgets based applications?

The RAD, wxCrafter, was originally nagware; but it is now FOSS and comes with the IDE, CodeLite. Some of the terms, like nagware and FOSS sounds like alien language for me, so could you please explain? Simple google would have done that ;) Nagware (also known as begware, annoyware or a nagscreen) i...

Re: good and simple to use IDE for wxWidgets based applications?

I think you do not want "good" and "simple". Maybe you want a quick and easy RAD tool. Tim S. RAD tool no meter how easy, without IDE and compiler is of no use for me. So to be more precise, I need IDE with compiler and included RAD tool. You know the best, that my english is really bad, so see no ...

Re: good and simple to use IDE for wxWidgets based applications?

Even doing everithing manually is still simpler then using that external sh*t. Well, it seems here yet another person who not understand what does mean word simple is. Written code manually couldn't been simplier than just pressing buttons in application until what do you see will be good enough. A...

Re: good and simple to use IDE for wxWidgets based applications?

Also since a graphical GUI designer is the most important part, VS is defenetlly of no use for me. You always can use external RAD tool, for example wxFormBuilder - https://github.com/wxFormBuilder/wxFormBuilder with any IDE. Even doing everithing manually is still simpler then using that external ...

Re: good and simple to use IDE for wxWidgets based applications?

Hi, Could you please enlighten me? Thank you. Sizers is something that is not realyy worcking good in wxWidgets. There is only 1 real sizer type in some diferent combinations. It is really complicated or sometimes imposible to place the compenents the way you want, using sizers. I mean it´s defenet...
