Hi All, I just handed over the login and password information to David Hart, who will together with UpCase move the wxForum to a new location eventually. I hope in the future this will resolve the performance problems. For all who sent me a private message to offer to take over the forum, this is mu...

Once again, I am too busy to maintain this forum. On a daily base I hardly get around to do anything constructive next to work. I have a little girl, a busy family life, and sometimes I wish I had more time, unfortunately I don't. Also, times change. I loved developing in C++ but I lost touch with w...

Hi Lothar, I made the wxGoldParser engine, which is a direct port of the Delphi version. However in the Delphi engine, there was a nasty bug, which I could not fix, so I pulled the version offline to avoid people getting frustrated with it. I know there are not much wrappers that are directly useful...

Hi there, Good idea. However I am not performing active maintenance on this forum anymore (I never did I was only the admin, upCase was the guru when it came to features). So, I don't think it gets implemented any time soon unfortunately. We are still suffering a performance issue, so the first thin...

I don't know either. I can however send over the PHP scripts and the MySQL database dump (will habe to put some effort in that) to any person who knows a spot that will relocate the wxForum. I contacted Jason a while back about the forum and got no reply. So I think he just doesn't know what else mi...

This forum is hosted (for free) by Idaho Web Hosting. A company (I believe) ran by a former forum member, Jason Sheets. So I think it runs in a virtual server environment, and I have no idea about the HW it runs on, or how busy the server is due to other sites running on it.

Hi Tierra, Apologies for my absence, life is just too busy. I know the site is slow at times. Jason Sheets did his best to make it better, but something is lagging. I am fine with re-hosting it somewhere else, but I kind of depleted my efforts trying to get it faster in it's current configuration. I...

Thanks fo reporting that, it is a known issue but I have not had the time to debug it. It might be a valid way of writing an URL, but sofar only Microsoft on their MSDN site does it. A workaround is using tinyurl or any other URL shortener.

With regards,

CMake is not a compiler, only a makefile/project generator. You should use the FindWxWidgets.cmake module I am sure on the wiki of CMake there will be examples how to do this. http://wiki.wxwidgets.org/CMake I know I wrote the base of this article some revisions have passed in the meantime but it gi...

BoogaLooBoob, How about putting more effort in finding a forum that is really able to help with your XBOX problems? Thought ppl in here were about helping others in need. Well, yes when it is wxWidgets related. But I am not a bad guy so here's a link to help you on your way. http://tinyurl.com/2utox...

The standard response to these problems is, take the minimal wxWidgets sample and add your wxDataViewTreeCtrl code there. Then add a button that demonstrates the "bug" and file a patch to the wxWidgets bug tracker. This is the most easy way to get a bug fixed and proven. The reason why you...

Long shot, but Compiz will manage your windows for you and positioning is kind of random depending on what spot is available on your desktop. I am not sure, but if you disable Visual Effects in appearance to use the standard gnome window manager, you might see that your positioning does work With re...

Not directly. But try to reimplement this in something like python and see if this still happens. It sould be easy with one or two lines. If the strange requests happen there too there is a machine problem else there is a problem in wx.
