Re: Question about menu hotkeys

curious, did you try skipping the event? Yeah, that was the first thing I tried. Didn't work (not surprising though, since it's menu event, not key event). And in matter of fact, it wouldn't matter even if it did work, because I have the menu item disabled at times, when I still need Del key to wor...

Question about menu hotkeys

Can I somehow display the hotkeys in the menu items, but still not process them at all. I.e. I have a menu item: editMenu->Append(MENU_DELETE, "&Delete\tDel") The Del key is registered as hotkey (both del keys "Delete" and numpad's "Del"). Because of this, delete button doesn't work in the control a...

And I'll take look into EVT_UPDATE_UI. Thanks. :)

Re: Followup

Little followup, so you know why this works: Events derived from wxCommandEvent (like wxTextEvent is) are propagated up to the parent of a control that recieves the events. Events that do not derive from wxCommandEvent do not do this. You have to subclass the control to change the event handling in...

Thanks for the reply. Also, as for the dynamic range thing, I don't even know the possible range, since there's not physical limit for the amount of text controls, of course I could assign some (very) big range so it would be guaranteed to work, or limit the amount of controls that can exist at the ...

Question about events.

I have a derived class from wxPanel, and in this derived class I have a pointer to a wxTextCtrl, which I will create in the constructor of my derived class. I want to know that is it possible to make an on text update event for this text control even if I don't derive it myself. Something like BEGIN...

Sorry for double post (again), but I don't think that I should post a new topic for this question, so I shall ask it here. I have a frame and a menubar assigned for it. This menubar has many menus attached to it (File, View, etc.), I want to do certain things when one clicks one of these menus (i.e...

Probably stupid question.

But, oh well, I am sure that someone knows the answer to this one. I have my wx application, a text editor, which is able to open documents when they are "sent to" it (it passes the filename as an argument for the app as you know). This works fine and it's all good. The problem arises when I want to...

What version of wx on what platform? If you're not using it already, try using the latest devel 2.5.3 and see if the flicker goes away. I kinda like got it fixed, I applied wxNO_FULL_REPAINT_ON_RESIZE and wxCLIP_CHILDREN (didn't notice it before). It works like most Windows app on resize now, which...

Okay, sorry for double post. I got it working fine now (I was doing stuff really weird way), but I have another question. When I have a singe wxTextCtrl I can get the wxNO_FULL_REPAINT_ON_RESIZE working fine, without the nasty flashing, but when I have a wxNoteBook, it doesn't work. Hell, I even tri...

Processing a TAB for text controls.

Hey, I have a simple wxNotebook with only wxTextCtrls (writing a small text editor for practise), and I am wondering one thing. When I have only one text control in my frame, I can use the TAB key for the text control fine, but with wxNotebook I can't. I have wxTE_PROCESS_TAB enabled. My question is...
