Re: MenuBar in macOS Catalina
We're probably tired of (my) such attempts, but have now recompiled everything : - Catalina 10.15.4 with Supplemental update, - Xcode 11.4.1, - wxWidgets 3.1.3 - my app - menu sample code .../wxWidgets-3.1.3/samples/menu Just to report, if anyone is still concerned, that this problem persists with ...

Re: MenuBar in macOS Catalina
Hi, Could you try building the minimal sample and run it with: open minimal.app and then check if the menu works correctly? Thanks for your reply but, politely, this is covering old ground already discussed in this thread. Yes, (re)building and running: open minimal.app does run exactly as expected...

Re: MenuBar in macOS Catalina
No, not running the application with 'open' from the command line, but with ./myapp [command-line-arguments] (with myapp being a symbolic link to myapp.app/Contents/MacOS/myapp Sorry, forgot to add - even if one invokes the program with: open myapp.app --args -x macOS redirects stdout and stderr (s...

Re: MenuBar in macOS Catalina
Hi, I presume you did build the Application Bundle" and from the Terminal you are running it as: open minimal.app (as for the minimal sample)? Yes, as per previous discussions I (we) are rebuilding 'everything' each time there's a new wxWidgets or macOS releases. No, not running the applicatio...

Re: MenuBar in macOS Catalina
I appreciate that the number of us interested in this issue is quite small, but I can confirm that a full clean and recompile of wx3.1.3 on the latest Catalina 10.15.4 and Xcode 11.4 does not fix the problem. If it's any consolation, the exact same problem exists with the latest Tcl/Tk (re)installed...

Re: MenuBar in macOS Catalina
Hi, You did the complete and full rebuild, right? Or simply build in the fresh new directory? Yes, full rebuild - make clean ; make distclean ; ./configure --and-all-the-above-options and then recompiled my application, and a few of the sample applications. I don't believe the problem lies in the b...

Re: MenuBar in macOS Catalina
Hello Everyone, similarly wondering if anyone is closer to solving this problem? My environments: wxWidgets 3.1.3 (and 3.1.2), Catalina 10.15.2, clang-1100.0.33.17 Symptoms: All menubar elements (menu titles) are initially inactive, but can be made active by first clicking on another application's w...

Re: Retina Support for Mac
Try double wxBitmap::GetScaleFactor() . You'll probably need the latest wxWidgets version from GIT for this. (Check <wxdir>/include/wx/bitmap.h to see if the method exists). Thanks very much, that's solved it! I'm using v3.1.1 and the indicated header file "reveals" lots of useful functio...

Re: Retina Support for Mac
Hello; in my macOS application I load two PNG images : - one is 16x16 pixels, stored in a file named, say, car.png - the other is "the same" image but at 32x32 pixels, stored in a file named vehicle@2x.png (a "retina" version) The code bm0 = wxBitmap("..../car.png", wxB...

Re: Drawing RoundedRectangles
From http://docs.wxwidgets.org/3.1.0/classwx_d_c.html : If radius is positive, the value is assumed to be the radius of the rounded corner. If radius is negative, the absolute value is assumed to be the proportion of the smallest dimension of the rectangle. This means that the corner can be a sensib...

Drawing RoundedRectangles
Hello, I wish to draw a rounded rectangle that is filled with a colour with an alpha value (its brush). While this works as hoped on OS-X, drawing directly using the wxDC, I understand that for this to also work on Linux that I need to use a wxGraphicsContext when drawing. However, when testing on e...
