I've added forums.wxwidgets.org so you can now get here from:
wxforum.shadonet.com
forum.wxwidgets.org
forums.wxwidgets.org
I believe the forum's setting will have to be updated to reference forums.wxwidgets.org otherwise it'll continue to redirect to wxforum.shadonet.com

wxForum moved to new server
I have moved the forum to a new server and everything appears to be working properly.
This should end the bouts of downtime and might speed up the board a bit as it is a bit beefier server.

wxForum Move Complete
I've moved the site to the new server and everything appears to be well.
Some users may still have cached DNS entries but they should timeout soon.
The site should may even be somewhat faster as this server is considerably better.

Hello all, The Planet is continuing to have problems and honestly is killing us. We are in the process of moving the remaining server away from them. Over the next few days I will be coordinating with Jorg and other site admin to migrate wxforum to another server. The other server should be somewhat...

Good morning, yes the server is hosted at The Planet and unfortunately was affected by their outage. They were able to bring the servers back up on generator power but unfortunately the generator failed, leading to the additional outage. At this time they are still running on generator power so at s...

Really blowfish and md5 are two seperate techniques. Hashing is more commonly used for storing passwords and is the technique I use though you will want to consider both techniques. Blowfish is a symmetric block cipher, other examples are Rijndael and Twofish and is reversible provided you use the s...

Program doesn't exit when XRC LoadFrame is used
Hello Everyone, I'm experiencing some difficulty in using XRC, I'm using XRC to define a very basic frame and then use LoadFrame within the constructor of the frame. The frame displays properly but unfortunately after the user closes the frame the program remains running even though there are no act...

Part of the problem is it is difficult to tell if you really are connected, DNS can be cached on the local machine or local DNS servers, you can be connected to a LAN and able to access local resources and the main connection can still be down. Even if the connection is up on a local machine it is p...

There are plenty of good crypto libraries out there, in particular I'd look at Botan and Crypto++, there is also libmcrypt. Also look at libgcrypt, it is based on some of the GnuPG code and might support a lot of the functionality you are looking for. Unless you are very well versed in crypto it wou...

Unfortunately from what I've read even Scintilla is designed only for reasonably small files (in the hundreds of KB) and scales to megabytes but doesn't scale well into hundreds of MB. I'm not so much wanting to load the entire file into the control at one time as much as make it appear that I have ...
