It will update all the time, but I will not clear. This is what my function looks like wxTextCtrl* text; //do something text->Clear(); //do something text->AppendText("new text"); //do something text->AppendText("new text"); //do something text->AppendText("new text"); When I watch the textCtrl what...

I use SuSE 9.3 and WindowsXP(Both with same behaviour). My wx-Version is 2.6.1. And it will only happen if after the clear is some work to do. When I just call the Clear()-command in an event-function an do nothing else it will work fine.

Hope this will help to fix it

wxString preset_dir("Debug"); preset_dir = wxGetCwd() + "\" + preset_dir + "\"; I think that is a start. But it is possible to specifiy a path it this way: wxString dir; dir = "..\\..\\Debug" And when I just add "" the wxDirDialog cannot resove the path anyway. You could try with wxFileNam::MakeAbs...

Think you are right.

But than the problem is inside the wxDirDialog. It can't handle relativ paths. Is there a possibilty to create an absolut path from a given relativ path?

wxDir::Exists with relativ Path

Hi, I try to Check if a path on my system Exists an use wxDir::Exists. It will work without problems as long as I use an absolute path, but won't work with relativ paths. This is what I do: wxString preset_dir; //Get the requested Path from a wxTextCtrl preset_dir = Test_Source_Directory_Text->GetVa...

Clear a wxTextCtrl

Hi there I try to Clear a wxTextCtrl. Depending on the function the clear command will be called it will happen or not. How can this be? Inside one of the function it won't work there is much CPU work to do. Can it be that this is the "problem"? And what can be done that it will work although? Thank...

I found the solution. I have to set a local variable by using

Code: Select all

setlocal(...);
. It has to do with gtk, that does anything else with this variable ...

Thanks for your help

In fact the function which executes the atof doesn't get any data from my wx-app. I read the needed value out of a file. I had similar problems when I was writing in memory not allocated (out of bounds). But I checked my code. I don't think it happen there.

Shared library problem

Hi, I have the following problem. I call in my application a shared library I wrote myself, which is tested to work. I can load this lib also with my wx-app. The problem now is: I use an atof() in my lib, but it won't has any effect! I use wxWidgets2.6.1 in static lib mode, SuSE Linux 9.3. More stra...

ldconfig

I had an afterthought. You can execute the command "ldconfig". It will update your configuration so that the libs can be found.

May be you could post some output. It would tell some more. Therefor you may can redirect the output of your call into a file, copy to disk ... (Maybe) Probably you have to set a path I don't know. But you can try it with using static libs. Than the wx-libs won't call by starting your app and it cou...

It says unable to load static libray libwx....so.o This is a bit confusing. Static libraries will have an .a as extention(at least on my system). The .o means that it is a dynamic lib(I think). Correct me if I'm wrong. I find it also confusing that you won't get a link error but after that by execu...

I think there is a link missing so that you can run it everywhere inside a shell. I altough think that is the reason why KDevelop can't execute the wx-config-command. I think you have two possibilities. 1. You use the complete path to wx-config inside KDevelop (I think it is bad) 2. You link the wx-...
