Re: Having problems with v3.1.2 and mingw

Thank you for that - and you are right that there are mismatches between 64bit and 32bit. Based on your screenshot, I installed mingw-64 as 32bit and repeated the demo compile. Things have moved on and the linker is giving a different error message: C:\wxWidgets-3.0.4\lib\gcc_lib/libwxbase30ud.a(bas...

Re: Having problems with v3.1.2 and mingw

I reverted to wxWidgets 3.0.4, and rebuilt the libraries using the mingw64, which appeared to have been produced without error. I created the CB wxWidgets demo again, and using the mingw64 again, instead of the mingw that came with CB, I get the same error messages on compiling eg "../x86_64-w64-min...

Re: Having problems with v3.1.2 and mingw

I have a separate mingw setup, rather than the CB one. So, in CB the Toolchain Executeables are all set to point to my mingw setup, which is also listed in the Windows PATH statement. After downloading wxWidgets 3.1.2, I simply went to the build\msw directory and ran mingw32-make on makefile.gcc. I ...

Having problems with v3.1.2 and mingw

I have just downloaded wxWidgets 3.1.2 and the libraries were produced without any problems. However, when I tried to compile the simple program from the Code::Blocks wxWidgets wizard I got a linker error message for all the libraries used by the program. eg "...skipping incompatible C:\wxWidgets-3....

wxObjArray and pointers to elements

I have several wxObjArrays in my code. I also use pointers to Items in the arrays (ie &array.Item(index) ). If I Remove an element (ie array.RemoveAt(index) ), do the pointers to the remaining elements stay the same? Sample code for a simple wxObjArray indicates yes, but I do not know if this is acc...

Re: Build 3.0.2 Stops building

I have given up on 3.0.2 and am using 3.1.0 ... however that requires the Codeblocks wxWidgets script to be manually edited to introduce the global options for a wxWidgets project (and here I introduced the additional mingw libraries identified by DoubleMax as being needed when using 3.1.0 .... thum...

Re: Build 3.0.2 Stops building

I am using GNU Make 3.82.90
I downloaded wxWidgets 3.1.0 ... and that built ok. It has to be something really really dumb that I haven't spotted.

Build 3.0.2 Stops building

I have been using r3.0.2 on Windows 10 since it was first released, without any problems, and with the same IDE (CodeBlocks r16.01). I suddenly started getting linker problems where (evven with old projects) I would get build messages referring to 'Duplicate Sections' (ooops - did not copy the actua...

Re: Using AddFontResource

AddFontResource((LPWSTR)"myfont.ttf"); You can't cast an 8bit string literal to a wide string literal and expect it to work. It's also possible that you need to use an absolute path for the font. I tested with this and it worked: wxString fontfile( "d:\\League_Gothic.ttf" ); AddFontResource( fontfi...

Re: Using AddFontResource

My machine is running Vista 32 bit (sigh  ). I am using code:Blocks with minGW32 Some minimalist code, created simply from the Code:Blocks wxWidgets template .... Note - the font can be any font which is not installed in the Windows font directory. I have tried a few free fonts downloaded, and...

Using AddFontResource

One of the programs I have produced uses an OpenType ttf font, which is not in the set of installed Windows fonts. The program does not have an installer, and I now want to avoid the users installing the font themselves by placing the font in the program's working directory and load it using the win...

Re: Re-Install of Codeblocks gives failing builds

Does you CodeBlocks's "wx" global variable well points to the wxWidgets 2.9.5 directory (in case you have several wxWidgets installed) ? Does the search directories in your project's build options well use this global var ? Did you do a clean (or full rebuild) before to build ? I had set these up a...
