Is wx4j Alive?

I notice that the web site says that the last release was against 2.4.2. Does anybody know if there is ongoing work to bring it up to 2.6.1, or is it dead?

Thanks,

Your best bet might be to check out VTP at http://www.vterrain.org/ You have to email them and ask them for their code, but they'll give it to you. VTP is written in wx (but it might be 2.4, it's been a while). The apps you are looking for are "Enviro" and "VTBuilder". Maybe you can get some tips fr...

Even though it isn't being maintained anymore, and I have to admit that I haven't used it, this might be a good starting point:

Well, yes, it did come from Microsoft originally, but WTL is now open source and hosted on SourceForge. I have to admit that I've never read the license, though... Anyhow, just mentioned it because I though it was interesting. It is all templates with nothing extra to link in, which I thought made i...

I think that this one is interesting, even though it is WTL-based:

http://www.codeproject.com/wtl/tabbingframework.asp

I'm pretty sure it does all of the docking, and creating new tabbed frames when you drag a torn-off tab onto another one, etc.

I believe all of Boost is namespaced. Do you have a using directive somewhere before the code you posted? If not, you'll have to prefix all of the Boost types with the namespace.

Hmmm. You can't sit in a while loop like that and expect to get windowing (or any other kind of) messages. All windows messages are delivered in the same (main UI) thread that you start in, and you are holding that thread up, thereby stopping it from dispatching messages. AFAIK games typically don't...

Nope. DWORD is typedef'd as an unsigned long. I believe the style parameter in all wx windows is actually declared as a long, not a DWORD, so I'd just change your definition to match the wx definition.

Re: class inhertance error.

this is my code for a header file: #ifndef GLCANVAS_H #define GLCANVAS_H #include "PrecompiledHeaders.h" class GLCanvas : public wxGLCanvas { public: GLCanvas( wxWindow &frame, int &var, wxPoint &point, wxSize &size, DWORD &style, wxString &title ); }; #endif and i am getting this error: C:\Stromga...

Hi there. I know this isn't wx-specific, and it is a bit enormous, but have you looked at ICU (IBM's open-source library for i18n)? There's a lot of stuff in there, and it is C++ and portable.

Well, this call works for me (I get the answer 1024, which seems reasonable). But I am calling it in my wxGLCanvas-derived class, and after a call to SetCurrent(). Now, I'm much too lazy, err... busy, to go digging through the wx source on someone else's behalf, but I would guess that the OpenGL stu...

I honestly can't believe I'm posting this, as I'm starting to think you must be kidding, but anyhow... The FAQ is the VERY FIRST TOPIC IN THIS FORUM. It says: "Announcement: FAQ v6" and then the last updated date (11/1 in this case). The resources section is item #2 in the FAQ. I shall repeat it her...

To be a bit more specific than geon, in the setup.h file for your wxWidgets libraries, there is a constant called wxUSE_GLCANVAS which defaults to 0. Set it to 1, rebuild the wx libs and I believe that should fix the problem.

I believe this is the error you get when you forget to actually build the wx libraries themselves. If you are using VC (for example), there is a dsp file in the <wx install dir>/src directory that you can open and build. I may be mistaken, but I believe it creates that wx/setup.h file for you as a b...

Well, I've figured out part of this. I guess on a deselect, the event can be interpreted as "all of the rows have been deselected" rather than it telling me exactly what rows were deselected. This is ok; I just didn't quite understand it properly from the help. However, I can't understand why GetSel...
